What can I say about such a great man. Someone who helped the horror genre become pouplar and helped Halloween touch so many people and made it what it is today.
My prayers go out to the akkad family on the loss of Moustapha and Rima.
You wil be truely missed
It's odd that I'll miss a man I've never met. Moustapha Akkad -- and Halloween -- are responsible for my love of movies. On more than a few occassions I'd watch documentary footage on the DVDs and enjoy his enthusiasm for the films and its characters.
But why does any of that matter? He's gone, and that hurts me. I can only imagine what it must do to his family, especially the loss of Rima. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and hope you'll be able to find some semblance of peace in the future.
Moustapha and Rima, the both of you will be truly missed.
This is like a tragedy within my own family. Moustapha has given me so much more than he or anyone else involved with these films will realize. He will be missed among a legion of fans. I pray that his family will find some comfort in the fact that Moustapha will live on through his legacy of work. Thank you Moustapha, may you and your beautiful daughter find peace on the other side.

I just found out about this horrible thing. I can't believe the one man who could help take over from John Carpenter is dead, and murdered, at that, as well as his poor daughter.
My heart and sympathy goes out to the entire Akkad family and Halloween community.
I am very sorry, this is just a terrible thing. My Love goes out to all who may feel this in the heart.
God bless.
I am sorry for your loss. It is such a shame that such a tragic thing happened to such wonderful people. They will both be greatly missed. Halloween will never be the same, not seeing Moustapha Akkad's name across the screen.
I am sure that all of our hearts go out to Moustapha and Rima.

I AM SADDENED BY THE RECENT NEWS OF THE DEATH OF MOUSTAPHA AND RIMA. I AM SURE THAT THE AKKAD FAMILY HAS TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE IN THE HORROR GENRE. YOU WILL BE MISSED.
With such a great man loss, who knows how the next halloween film(s) would be. May God recognize and remember him when he reaches Heavens' Gates. God bless his family and friends.
Moustapha was a genius in assisting with the creation of the Halloween series. Hope you and your daughter rest in peace...and Michael Myers finds the terrorists and kills all those motherfuckers!!!
TO the AKKAD family i am so sorry for your loss, Moustapha was a great person who kept alive Michael when others wanted him dead.
He like his daughter will be missed.
I am so sorry about Moustapha,he was a great man I could tell by looking at him and all the accomplishments in his life with the Halloween films and other things,I will miss him for the great films and the great man that he was.
sincerly,
Nick campana
I am deeply saddened over this.Halloween was the first movie I ever flipped for.I pray that someone will carry this legacy on, remember, DOnald Pleasence, and Moustapha akkad both said they will quit at 22!God bless all of you in this tragic time
Without Moustapha Akkad, it's likely that Halloween would have been a lesser-known horror movie, if it would've been made at all. Without him, millions would have never seen one of the greatest movies of all time. Halloween was the film that wanted me to make films. In a way, he is responsible for my passion for film today.
Thank you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the akkad family. I am sincerly sorry for your loss.
This is a terrible lost for Halloween fans. I can't believe this has happen. I'm really sad. God bless you Mousthapa and Rima.

Truly sad news. My condolences to the families of Moustapha and his lovely daughter, as well as all the staff of Trancas Films and HalloweenMovies.com and the friends who knew and loved them.
i loved moustpha akkad and the work he did for halloween and michael myers...we loved him greatly and ill miss him ...god love you moustapha akkad
i am terribly saddend by your loss and i'm such a fan of the halloween movies
Some days come with terrible news... I am really shocked and devastated by the death of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima.
As a Syrian-French journalist, I was so proud of him and his success. "The Message" and the Halloween movies definitely marked the people who have seen them.
It is terrible to see someone who achieved such a great film on Islam killed by people who call themselves "real Moslems".
We are sad today and we will miss you Mr. Akkad.
With sadness and respect.
Ammar
Dear Moustapha ans Rima, I don't beleve than you die sure. I miss you. I thanks you for support the movie Halloween at 1978. I never forget you. I sorry you.I love you.
Moustapha, your films brought light to the true nature of Islam and the true struglles of Muslims. You showed that Islam was a religon of peace and for that I commend you.
You believed in a little horror film, that turned out to create a pop-culture revolution. You, in response to the crys of the public, let the series flourish and kept the Halloween films going.
Your humble and iconic nature has touched many and will continue to touch many, as you become a legend.
You were a legend in your own time, a film icon and a respected Muslim. I write this in the hope that your family may read and learn of the impact you had on your fans. May peace be with you in your afterlife.
my prayers go out to the akkad family, we will miss you. at least u and donald plesance are up there together, but i think the big ? is now,"WILL THERE EVER BE ANOTHER HALLOWEEN?"
I am so sorry the Akkad family loss. You will be in my prayers.
I have just heard of the tragedy and am deeply saddened.
I send all my good wishes to Malek Akkad and the family.
Moustapha Akkad is the Godfather of the Halloween films and will be sorely missed, not just for his work within the films but for who he was. He always struck me as a fan aswell.
What a world we live in.
i a very sorry of the passing of
akkad and his daughter, he was very
great in the pouplarity of the
hallloween movies. He will be greatly missed.
I feel all of us that are "Halloween" fans are an extended family, drawn together on common grounds. Any loss in our family is a tragedy but, this one stings worse since the cause is so pointless, so utterly wrong on so many levels. We have lost so many in our family recently, it makes you savor the times you had with them on this earth. We send our heartfelt condolences to all those in the Akkad family for your loss of your loved ones. Words cannot explain our emptiness....

After showcasing Michael Audrey Myers and Silver Shamrock, Mr. Akkad died because of a greater evil. Now Halloween won't feel the same.
Like in the Myers movies, this "Sheriff" and his daughter died...not fair.
Moustapha Akkad dedicated his life to spread words of peace and unity, and to build a bridge between Islam and the West. He was a man who always tried to do the right thing and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind out. His goal was to show the world the peacefulness of Islam. He was an immaculate human being who had a ‘Message’.
His unexpected passing is very tragic, but what makes it even more heartbreaking is the fact that the people responsible for this brutal atrocity claim to be religious; obviously they never truly understood the ‘Message’.
I hope one day people put their differences aside and stop using religion to justify their inhumane acts. May God bless Moustapha and Rima, nad may God bless us all.
Mr. Akkad
I am truly blessed to have met you at H25.
Your ability to make us afraid, strangly, made us love. You who never filled the screen always filled our minds. The name we could not easily pronounce, we always knew by memory. You who rarely showed your face will always be immortalized in a face of a man who bore no emotions.
You who were not into horror, created the modern horror genre. So odd, so magical. A gift to all who love to surrender to the terrors of a darkened theater. You a Syrian borne filmaker have held the very pulsebeat of American youth. You were one of us and we mourn your loss. We could not have been more different. Through Michael we could not be more the same. You are and always shall be our dark kindred and when the lights darken and the strains of eerie piano music once again fills the screen in our minds and in our hearts it is your name that we will always see first. May Dr. Loomis lead you into the Pearly Gates after showing you the many hearts that are touched by your magic and now heavy with sadness at your passing.
We will never forget you. We will not let Michael die. You are now the immortal one. The one who will be there when the lights go down. When we are alone at night. You who so rarely were given the respect you deserved will now be just as immortal as the character you gave us. Every Halloween shall be your day our friend. Every year we will toast your gift to us. You will never be forgotten.
Sincerely
Steven Thorne
I am so saddened, by the loss of both Moustapha & Rima. I was fortunate enough, to have met Moustapha, back in 2003. He was a very kind man & you could tell that he was very passionate about his work. Everytime, I watch a "Halloween" movie, I will think of him & what he gave to all of us. My thoughts & prayer's, are with the Akkad & Monla, family. May god bless you all.
May the burden on your hearts lighten to know they were loved so.
Many thoughts go out to your familes in this time of great travesty.
I wanted to offer my condolences to the Akkads. Watching a Halloween movie will never be the same. Mr. Akkad's memory will live on in my heart forever. May he rest in peace. God Bless.
I was deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Mr. Akkad and his daughter. Like many people posting here, I had never met Mr. Akkad, but I feel, through my love of the Halloween movies and all of his work, that Mr. Akkad was a personal friend.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families of Mr. Akkad and Ms. Akkad Monla. May peace and love surround you during this difficult time.
To the family and friends of Moustapha and Rima, I express my profound condolences for your loss. I was shocked and upset to hear of this tragedy. I thoroughly enjoy Moustapha's movies --everytime I see his name on the TV screen and hear the "Halloween" music start to play I know I am in for a treat! He, as well as Rima, will be missed.
The loss of Moustapha and Rima is a tragic one. It's strange to think that we will never again see Moustapha talking about the Halloween movies, or for that matter simply being himself.
You both will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry for your lost. May God bless you at this time. I pray that no one else will ever again have to suffer the pain your family has had to endure due to such a senseless, Godless act such as terrorism.
Thank you for the Halloween movies, Moustapha. Without you, they would never had been possible.
Wow, such a sad time for all of us. Im just another halloween fan, just someone whos life was changed and life mad stronger because of Michael Myers. As a child I was beat up alot, either at home or at school, life was scary during those times of abuse.Until Michael Myers came into my life, I found something more scary than living at home, I found something that made me grow to be stronger, and care free from bullies.I am now 28, and still a huge fan of Halloween, Thank you Moustapha for saving my life, keeping Michael Myers alive, Thank you Moustapha for giving me something to love and keeping the love alive, Thank you Moustapha for never selling out and letting the fans make the Halloween movies the way they are, Thank you Moustapha for all the great years of Halloween. To the family im truly sorry for your loss, I know im sadden by this tragic death, and ive never met Moustapha, there is know way I could imagine what you guys are going through, im truly sorry . Now maybe John Carpenter will come back, make some more Halloween movies im memories, have Michael sent over seas and kill some terroist ass,, GOD BLESS THE AKKAD FAMILY AND THE HALLOWEEN FAMILY AND FANS,,
I had the honor of meeting this remarkable man and his son at the Halloween 25 convention. This is such a tragedy. My thought and prayers are with the family.
This is terrible. I was so sad and shocked to hear of his passing. He kept HALLOWEEN going, he was a great person and he will be remembered by all!
i hope those fuckers DIE!!!
may God bless their families. how can you believe in God and then kill innocent people? the killing has got to stop it serves no purpose
I never had a chance to meet him at the Halloween Convention but I really though alot about this man. The "father" of Halloween will be remembered by many of us. All I can say at this time is that I hope the people who came up with the idea of bombing the hotel, DIES!!!!!!
As well as many out there, my prayers go out to the Akkad Family on the loss of Moustapha & Rima.
Mr. Akkad's and his daughters passing is a great loss to not only his family and friends, but to those who never knew the man.
He in so many ways revolutionized entertainment because he listened was one of the only producers who cared a great deal for his franchise and the fans of it. He had a great repect for the fans, as he apperciated what they had done for him.
He was loved and adored. Now his family, as well as all other victims of this pointless loss of life are in our thoughts and prayers.
I heard about this horrible incident and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the Akkad family. His memory will always be linked to a great and fun group of pictures called Halloween. I had the opportunity to meet with him at the Halloween 25th Ann. in Pasadena, very nice man full of energy and wit and ready to sign anything for a fan. I have some great video and shots of him that I will always treasure. Hang in there and keep this thought, there are millions of Halloween fans who are saddened by this as well.
I was horrified and deeply saddened to learn of the murder of Moustapha Akkad and Rima Akkad Monla. Ever since I was eight or nine and reading Poe, I have felt the calling to be a writer and have been drawn especially to the horror genre. The "Halloween" films have had a tremendous influence on my work. Without these films, and Mr. Akkad's dedication to them, my understanding of cinema, of horror, not to mention my imagination, would have been impoverished. Moreover, I proudly count Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd as dear friends. May Moustapha and Rima now rest in God's eternal peace and love.
Mr. Akkad trusted me and my friend Bruce to take Halloween onto the internet - and I hope we made him proud. I appreciate him giving me a chance to leave my own personal mark on the franchise - and meet so many people that made the movies I love.
At the age of 13, my friends and I were making ASCII animated opening titles in computer class (hey, it was 1989!) - and the first name we always put up was "Moustapha Akkad Presents."
We'll miss you, Halloween Godfather.

I just want to start off by saying my prayers go out to the Akkad family. Next i want to say that it is such a tragedy that a great man and his beautiful daughter would have to be taken from their family like that. Halloween 9 wont be the same without a great man like Akkad on the set. Its just ashame that a great man who had helped make the Halloween series what it is was just taken from us like that. Once again my prayers go out to the Akkad family. And i hope that
Moustapha and Rima rest in peace.
Incredible loss--I was deeply saddened to hear about this tragedy.
The arab world has lost an incredible ambassador for Islam and Arab values.
And Aleppo has lost its most famous citizen.
Rest in Peace Mustapha and Rima Akkad
I may have not known him personally but it still feels like a part of me is lost. The Halloween Series must go on. He will never be forgotten!! Danielle, Bola, Mike, Jon, Steve, Angel, Lynds, and Lauryn.

My prayers go out to the Akkad family on this time of great sadness.
Thank's Moustapha Akkad for inspiring me.
This is truly a tragic loss to Akkad family and to the Halloween Community. I am still in shock, now days later. My prayers are with the entire Akkad family. It truly is shame to know that in this day and age, we have to fear a day of joy and being among friends and family because the World houses people who hold not a shred of heart or remorse. Again my prayers are with you. Halloween THE DAY and the series will never be the same again

P.s. i revealed the company's name just for the memorie of Moustapha Akkad
it's called The Halloween Films
i wasnt even a teenager when i first got hooked on to his movies i drive my husband crazy with all thhings halloween. mostapha was a classic legend and he WILL live on. I hope that all families affected by this will learn to live on without the lost ones. im so sorry for all of this. my sisters and brother who went to highschool with rima are also deeply saddened and send their apologies. be strong
omg, i'm at a loss for words
I was just swinging by to see if there was any Halloween 9 news, and now I am shocked and sickened and filled with sorrow at the news of the senseless taking of Moustapha and his beautiful daughter, Rima.
I know that everyone involved in the history of the Halloween franchise doesn't know me from Adam, but I feel I know a great deal of them having been an avid fan since the beginning.
All I can do, still being in shock, is do my best to send up prayers for the families, and try to sort out my thoughts here in this blog.
This tragedy is yet another reminder of the world we now live in, consumed by hatred, misery, war, cruelty, and indifference.
So many people in the world aspire, and sacrifice everything to come to America and hopefully find the dream they fought and scraped for to come to reality for them and their families. The irony is, America is also the most hated country in the world for its actions on others' soil.
What are we to do as human beings? The world has changed for the worse, and continues to decline. These two beautiful souls being taken while on vacation to their homeland is a prime, sad example.
My sincerest and deepest condolences and prayers go the Akkad, Ascha, and Monla families.
May peace come to their souls, and may their families and friends be blessed and nurtured through their grief.
This tragic event shall be known that the criminals who committed this event, will recieve their punishment. To kill a brother of Islam is like hurting God himself. My condolences go out to all of the Akkad family and fans. This will truly be the mark of evil; in a sense. But don't worry fans, Like Akkad once said, "Nothing, noone can kill Michael Myers!"
R.I.P Moustapha Akkad
Wow . Really saddened to go to the website and find out such horrible news . Never met the man , but like many have said he was part of the whole Halloween franchise and Halloween is the reason for my love for the horror genre of films . My thoughts and prayers go out to the Akkad family . He will be remembered by me threw the legacy he helped to create with Halloween .
This whole story just seemed so unreal when I read about it. It's a pitty that the life of such a great man had to come to an end. I am sorry for the loss of his life as well as Rima's. My heart and prayers go out to Moustapha's family.
R.I.P. Moustapha. Thank you so much for everything you have done for the horror genre.
I was sad to hear the news that Mr. Akkad had passed away and in such a horrible way but he will be missed. His Halloween movies will always keep him here with us.
I am devastated to hear of Mr. Akkad's passing. God bless you Moustapha. You will forever be a legend. Thank you for 'Halloween'.
i'm deeply saddened to hear this news that i just found out...that's why these terrorists need to stop with all these bombings innocent people dieing and it's not necessary....we lost a great man and he'll always be remembered for his involvement in the Halloween movie series and let's all hope the next halloween movie can be the best one yet to be dedicated in his memory something he would be proud of!!!
James, Delaware
i just got the news, and i am so sadden. you guys will forever be missed!!!! it is just so sad to even try to understand, what the family must be going trought. i am just so sad. RIP you will be missed greatly.
To the Akkad family,
I am a 31 year old african american gentleman from Houston, Tx. I have literally grown up with the HALLOWEEN franchise and I am heartsick over the loss to your family. Though I am a Christian and you are Muslim, I pray that God will comfort you in this time of loss. I even ask for prayer myself as I simply cannot recompose myself from this tragedy. Perhaps the irony here is that my name is JASON, but I have always loved MICHAEL. The website shows Moustapha's children as his survivors. I can smile thru my tears knowing that perhaps MICHAEL MYERS should be listed amongst those survivors. I pray that Malek and the other children will carry on the trylt repsectable legacy of their father.
DEVASTATED,
Mr.J FLETCHER

I am very sadened to hear moustapha and his daughets dealth. He brought great pleasure into my life from all the halloween films from when i was 9 years old till now im 25. His films show art and talent like i have never seen before. thanks moustapha for making bad ass films
Ryan
My thoughts and prayers are with the Akkads. I practically grew up watching the Halloween series, so I give a heartfelt thanks for all the memories.
You know it's strange... I knew the movies but prior to October 25th 2005 I couldn't have told you who produced the Halloween films. I went out to Blockbuster and I was on a mission to rent all 8 of the movies. It was simply through watching them and seeing the extra features on the dvd's where I not only saw interviews with actors who had starred in the films but a few interviews with Moustapha Akkad. You could just see and sense the passion Moustapha brought to his work, those Halloween films were his heart and soul, he would have continued to make a success of that franchise for years to come. You have to deeply admire someone who had found their purpose in life and thouroughly embraced what they did for a living. He loved movies, he loved a good scare and everyone will deeply miss a man who truly enjoyed what he did. He's left behind a legacy and shoes I fear will be extremely difficult if not impossible to fill! God bless you Mr. Akkad and thank you so much for your outstanding work you've left behind and for scaring the life out of me while I was being entertained!

u would like to extend my deepest sorrow and sympathy to the family of Moustapha Akkad and his Daughter. Thanks for bringing us "halloween" one of my fav movies. May god rest your soul and ur daughter's soul in peace. Though ur life was taken through a cowardly act, ur spirit and memory will live on through the magic of your work. Thanks for the great movies.
When I first came to Halloweenmovies.com, I was shocked to find that Debra Hill had months ago, and I didn't know about it until I visited this site.
Now I have to say that after hearing about Moustapha Akkad, I am completely devasted. I feel that we lost two of the most creative minds in the entertainment industry.
Moustapha spoke about Donald Pleasance that when he was asked when he would stop playing Sam Loomis in the Halloween films, he said, "I'll stop at Halloween 22." After Donald's death, Moustapha actually said that he would like to carry out Donald's wishes to make 22 Halloween films. It's just too bad that neither Moustapha or Donald had lived to see Halloween 22 come true.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all three families, and I'd like to give my sincere condolences to all the fans, saying "I know what you are going through."
But look forward to the future, and count your blessings, not your regrets. Have a great rest of the year, and Happy Holidays to all.
Sincerely,
Billy G. W.
To this very moment, I am still in shock and disbelief. I simply cannot believe that Moustapha had passed away. I keep checking the news every day to make sure that everyone is really for real. It is so tragic, so sad, so incredible, yet it seems reality will sink in when the dust of denial and shock settles. We have no choice but to submit to the will of God.
What were the chances of Mr. Akkad and his daughter going to Amman and meeting in the same place, at the same hotel on the one day when terrorists decided to strike peaceful Jordan? The answer is: God's will. Their time was up, tragically so. Their wonderful lives were untimely ripped and meant to be taken on that day, otherwise, the odds of them being victims on that day were very slim.
I first met Mr. Akkad in 1990 when I had just graduated from film school. It was a party honoring Syrian actor Dreid Lahham. It was held at a hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I will always remember the first words he told me. Later, he gave me his office number. I called him later, and went over to his office which was on Sunset at the time. It was like yesterday. Last time I met Mr. Akkad was in 2002 when I was having dinner with my ex-wife at a restaurant on Sunset Blvd. When I approached him, he immediately rememberd me. I had pitched a few ideas to him once, including a Halloween sequel. He always told me the same thing: "you need credit, get your name out there and you will find work!" I simply cannot believe that the man who once inspired me to become a filmmaker through his movie "The Message" is actually lying in the dust right now, killed by a horde of barbarians who dare to call themselves Muslims!!!!
My heart goes out to Malek, Tareq, Zade and Sooha. May God give you patience and peace. You are not alone in your loss. You are not alone in your mourning. The whole world mourns with you.
Sincerely,
Samy C.
Sadly, I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Akkad, but he was a hero of mine and many others around the world for carrying on the legacy of Michael Myers and investing so much time into the HalloweeN series. Family, friends and fans will carry on the spirit of Mr. Akkad forever so he will never truly be gone.
R.I.P. Mr. Moustapha Akkad and Ms. Rima Akkad, you will both be forever missed, but never forgotten.

Sincerely,
Samy C.
I do not know any real words that can console/heal/help anyone who loses loved ones in such a tragic way. His death made me realize who he was.
It made me want to know who the real Moustapha Akkad was and in my searches of his many interviews. I
read the words and advice of a kind wise man who loved both his homeland and america. He understood America. He had no problem respecting people who's faith values did not match his own. He used this very website to find out what the fans wanted in regards to the films future endevors.
I wish I knew him, if only for a minute of my life so that I could thank him for his contributions to my fevered imagination and general love for safe fake scares.
It is through his death that I will seek and watch copies of his films The Message and Lion in the Dessert.
I can only hope that a
peace foundation is funded in his
and his Daughters name. Rima was so young and so very Pretty. I cant begin to understand the kinds of monsters that would take away such a gentle life.
One thing this has thought me and I hope one day teaches the land of Islam, is that we must respect each other differences.
God ultimately will decide who is right or wrong.
If any of us are even right to begin with...
All are created, all are taken but freewill will runs riot. If you really seek to please or apease your creator.
Never use your freewill to harm another being. No matter what the reason.
That is not the job of a man and only a coward would use their creator as a platform to committ or condone acts of violence.
What is power. Is it control or possesion over Land, Money, or People??
No!
None of this can follow you into
the world that may wait for us beyond this short exsistance.
Why do evil for such small things.
Real power is Love. Love of people young and old of all races and creed. Of all land and way. It is easy to love or hate someone else it is even harder to hate or love yourself.
Respect those that dont share your views. Break bread with them. See the person inside,
See
the brother,
the sister,
the son,
the daughter,
the father,
the mother,
the elder.
See that they are more then the path or creed they choose to define or calm their exsistance. That for them what they choose is what they need. It might not be what you nee or what you want for them but respect them none the less.
What makes us different makes us unique, and because of this terrible act we lost a very unique man and his daughter, as well as
countless others.
If we could imagine for one minute that these crimes where
only being committed and victimizing children.
I'm sure we would all try very hard to stop it. No matter what side we took.
It is my hope that the family of Moustapha begin a fund in him and
his dauther Rima's name to help usher in Peace to Jordan and the Eastern world.

This is a huge upset to the Halloween series and the horror genre. The ONLY man who has contributed, invented, and sustained all the elements of the Halloween series, is gone forever. May the legend Moustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima be in are prayers.
They are both in heaven with Donald Pleasence and the recently passed Debra Hill and Dan O'Herlihy. May they all rest in peace...

I don't know what to say. This is just awful. My deepest sympathies go out to their family at what must be an extremely hard time for them. May you both Rest In Peace, and thank you, really, thank you for the memories.
Mr Akkad you will be deeply missed. Not only as a producer of the long running Halloween movies but also as a man who showed me the fun to be had in making and starting my love of the genre. You will be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to the rest of The Akkad Family in their loss.
I was just looking on the net on the Halloween website when I found out that Moustapha Akked and his daughter are killed by terrorists.
Last week I heard of the attack and I was like; when does it stop.
Now, the victims have a face....
What a loss for family and others closely to the Akked family.
I wish the Akkad family and all other families of the victims the will to go on.
Thanks Moustapha for being a icon.
When I think back to times I've seen Moustapha speak on screen or in print, one word comes to mind: class. No, make that two words: class and dignity.
Rest in peace, dear entertainer.
For someone I've never met – it truly feels like a member of my family has been taken from me. My most sincere condolensces to the Akkad family. May God bless you and keep you in this terrible time.
I just can't believe it. I read it, and was stunned.
My prayers go out to the family. May a great man, RIP.
Halloween has been in my life since I was 10. I am now 27, the halloween films and dedicated fans has lost something very special, Moustapha Akkad. The Halloween franchise will never be the same again.
My prayers and Condolences goes out to the family of Moustapha and Rima.
Moustapha Akkad gave the fans and John what we all needed to get our blood running again. He will be missed greatly by all. Those that were able to meet him should feel honored. May they rest in peace.
A halloween fan in KY.
Well the man that brougth me those wonderfull halloween movies past away. I was very devastaded when i got on the website and found that out. I wish everyone good luck and hopefully the halloween movie comming up is dedicated to the man that made horror a genre. i will miss him

He was a great man who left an amazing legacy far beyond the Halloween films. He had an amazing family whose love and support meant everything to him.
While the journey in life has ended, it is but the beginning of the new journey of the spirit. And like all things he did, he will tak eon this journey as only he could.
May he and his daughter embrace this journey and find the blessings they so richly deserve...

I was very busy this weekend and didn't have a chance to get on the net until now.. I've just read the very upsetting news.. I can't believe this happend to a wonderful man.. This guy gave us an icon into the horror franchise many years ago and till this day it is still well known.. He will be surely missed by MANY people all over the world.. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of this horrible tragedy..
I can't believe that this has happened. I am deeply sorry to the Akkad family. I hope the Halloween family becomes even more closer and stronger. Moustapha Akkad and Rima will deeply be missed.
WE love you there is know words that we can saytht will bring you back i wish that was true but we can't you were taken form us way too soon we love you Moustapha Akkad will never be forgotten
This is horrible. Rima had two children. Moustapha was a wonderful producer, and cared so much about the Halloween series that he worked on every film. They will be missed by friends, family, and the Halloween/film community.
Moustapha Akkad was responsible for providing countless hours of horror movie entertainment for my husband and I. He was a key player in the horror genre, and will always be remembered.
I hope wherever he is, he has been reunited with Donald Pleasence, and the two of them can talk about the old times.
What can you say about this man. other than..............
Moustapha Akkad is the one who got me started on horror movies. he made it what it is today and i hope he rests in peace.
From a true fan, Akkad will be missed dearly.
The loss of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter is tragic. Terrorism is still here and we shouldn't live in fear and I hope that the American people will stand behind our troops open there eyes on what is really going on a encourage the fight against terrorism. People are dying everyday and we have to remember why that is. For a much peaceful future and no more senseless killings such as these too innocent bystanders
Deepest condolences to all members of the Akkad family. May there be some comfort in knowing Moustapha and Rima are together in peace. God be with you.
Dear Mr. Akkad
I am terribly sorry for your loss
I am a really great fan of your work on the Halloween Movies. Sorry
Send my blessings to your family
To the Akkad family,
Moustapha Akkad and his wonderful daughter were 2 great people. Both of whom will be dearly missed forever. I can't imagine the pain your all in. I never knew Mr. Akkad and it made my heart sink when I heard the news. A great man and daughter have passed on due to the acts of terror. A senselss and evil crime.
I never had the honor of knowing the man. I hoped that one day in my career I would. The Halloween series has, and always will be, one of my personal favorites. It got me in the business. This man was a pioneer to the Halloween world and it's fans.
We send our best to the entire Akkad family on this sad day of loss.
On behalf of FoxFrost Films and Halloween fans everywhere, God Bless.
Sincerely,

so sorry for your tremendous loss.
so many people are coming forward to say what a wondeful friendly and warm man he was -- Bless him and Rima.
SO sorry to hear about the tragic death of moustapha, and his daughter,my prayers goes out to his family, i surely hope that his legacy continues on,as one of the greatest horror film ever made.
i think they should make Halloween 9 in memory of him he is a good person and i think they should have Jamie Lee Curtis come back one more time even if they choose to end the series and i think Jamie Lee Curtis and the other cast members of the other halloween movies should be notiffied of his death and other crew members too may god bless him and his family
He was such a great man who had an eye for tasteful film such as his own: the halloween series. Lets make Halloween 9 memorable, after all it is in early stages and it should be made because he would of wanted it to be. Now is the time to make it full circle and include halloween 3-6 back into the series, as this may be the last! God Bless you x
I am saddened by this news of Mr. Akkad and his daughter's deaths. I am even more saddened that I did not see this news story on the news anywhere. My local news reported nothing and neither did any national news.Just another example of how terrorism acomplishes absolutely nothing. God bless everyone!!!!
Words cannot express how much Moustapha, the godfather of Halloween, and his daughter will be missed.
If it wasn't for him, there would never have been Michael Myers, or perhaps even a teen slasher genre.
It is because of him that I was inspired to create my own webpage dedicated to slasher films. If it wasn't for Mr. Akkad, I would have never taken an interest in horror and none of it would have ever happened, and for that, I will always remember and thank Mr. Moustapha Akkad.

This was a great man who did not deserve to have his life taken wayay from him as with his daughter. My prayers go out to him, his daughter and his family.
Dear Malek and the Akkad Family --
Only Malek and his father knew me. I worked for them several years ago. Our time together was brief; only a month or so, but I can tell you that Moustapha was a man who impressed me very much. I remember him very clearly as being quite warm and generous with me - a man I felt to be of deep character, I remember thinking almost immediately. But, alas, I have, inprudently, not kept in touch much, except for a couple of calls to Malek once or twice over the ensuing years years. However, I must tell you, franky, that I have thought often of Moustapha - especially over the past few years, wondering if I would be able to speak with him to ascertain his perspective concerning the great conflict now facing our world. And I say this now, not only memory of a man I admired for the qualities of character I preceived in him, but as well for the hope, for our world, which those quaalities sometimes brought to my soul. I, of course, knew Moustapha to be of the Faith of Islam. And it is that knowledge, coupled with my presence having touched his, that brought hope to me. To me Moustaphathis Akkad, despite our brief encounter, was a very good man. Of course, I can not say I will miss him in a physical sence, for I had been with him for only a short time in my life. Still, I shall truly miss knowing that a man suc as he walks the Earth. However, his having walked it brings to me a great gift. The gift of hope.
Malek, I know you love your father - and I also recall how he loves you. Thus, you are blessed, So carry on in his memory as best you can. For, as Islamic Holy teacings tell us (and as your web page reminds us): "Verily, with God do we belong and, verily, unto Him shall we return, " so, then, shall you one day beyond time again, sit with your beloved father - and your dear sister, but this time shall you do so in God's eternal kingdom.
May Gof bless your father and may he bless all your family
Love,
Brad English
I was incredibly saddened to hear the news of Moustapha's and his his daughers death. This is a an absolute tragedy. Moustapha will live on in the legacy that is the "Halloween" franchise, as well as with his other work. The original "Halloween" has inspired so many people, including myself to become filmmakers. He's touched many lives, most of which he never knew. I'm sure he will continue to do that from above. My deepest sympathies are with the family they left behind.
I did not know you, but I loved all the HALLOWEEN MOVIES!!! GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY LOVE,CRAIG RENNER
I"m so sorry that a great man like Moustapha had to go. He was a great person. So enthusatic about his work. Its sad to see him go. He'll be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
SCHOCKING AND HORRIBLE!!! I just found out and I can barely write! There's just a mix of heavy anger and sadness!
I had the great honor and pleasure of meeting Mr. Akkad, not once, but twice. I may seem like I'm bragging, but hey, I am.
The first time was at the 2000 Fangoria Halloween Reunion in Pasadena. The second in '03 at the Halloween Returns to Haddonfield.
In 2000, Moustapha was accompanied by his very cool son Malek. I took with me that day three special souvenirs. FirST, was his autograph on my original Hallowenn one-sheet. His name is now displayed next to Carpenter's. The second was the very pen he used to sign, I stole it and Dan Farrands and I got a very good laugh. And the third were the ever-lasting memories of meeting such an icon!
May the memories of Moustapha and Rima forever live on throughout the Hollywood filmscape, and through the hearts who knew them!
And may Mr. Malek Akkad, take over the reigns of one Mr. Michael Myers and The Shape of Trancas!
Very sincere,
Brent L. Valentine
My deepest sympathies to the Akkad family. Tragic and unnecessary.
My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Akkad and his daughter. They will be missed.
when i read about the passing away of Moustapha and Rima i felt saddened as if i'd lost a friend....i'll miss him.
thank you great man
may you and Rima born again in a world of PEACE
I am saddened To learn of this terrible loss, to Halloween fans, and for the family, his death will not be remembered in vain.
What can i say. the man was the man of scarey movies..He made halloween the best movie's that i have ever owned. He will be truely missed and he will always remain in our hearts.
It's so sad that a nice honorable man and daughter were to be taken away as a result of a terrible act by someone who claims to be of the same religions. May all people now understand the difference between a true Muslim and evil. Moustapha was a true Musilim and the ones who took his life was pure evil. May Moustapha's Frankenstein take revenge on them!!!
Im sorry for your loss..Moustapha was a very great guy. He will be missed and halloween will never be the same
Moustapha Akkad was the grandfather of the "Halloween" films, and I am deeply saddened by his passing. I wish strength to his loved ones.
I just can't believe that Moustapha and died on his daughters wedding, and that Rima died on her wedding. That is the most horrible way and day to die, you were great with the Halloween movies, thus you will be missed by the halloween fans.
Rest In Peace... Our love is with you.
-Aaron Pimentel
I caanot believe it. Moustapha... dead. What now? What is the future of the Halloween series? This is definitely going to delay Halloween 9. And yet, we were close to production. This is my opinion. I have heard that the Hallowen series was going to end when Halloween 10 came out. Its just something I heard, so take it as a rumor. But right now, they need to get a really good movie writer for Halloween 9 and just end it. NO MORE wierd endings after each Halloween movie that tells you theres going to be another and we have to wait a long time before it actually comes out. PLEASE!!!, just get a good writer, good actors, good director, and just end it at Halloween 9. Too much had happened. And please, put a good ending where Michael actually dies and he dosen't come back. PLEASE, I'm begging. It needs to end now. I'm 100 percent sure a lot of Halloween fans would appreciate it. Its all up to Malek Akkad now, I guess. Please just make the Halloween 9 movie, and make it real good, even better than the first one, and just end it. R.I.P. Moustapha and Rima.
I am absolutely devastated on what has happened. Mr Akkad will be deeply missed, and he will be remembered by those brillaint Halloween films that he made. Halloween will never be the same again. My heart goes out to his family and friends. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
Nothing can describe the shock and grief of hearing about the deaths of Moustapha and Rima. Such a tragic and senseless loss of life. This should be a wake-up call for us ALL to fight in the war on terror as it effects ALL of us no matter where we're from. Moustapha helped bring the best horror movie in history to life and has kept us entertained for over 25 years. You will be missed by ALL of us. It is truely a sad sad day
It is a shame that this tradgedy would happen to anyone. I give my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Akkad and his daughter. May you both rest in peace. And thank you Mr. Akkad, thank you for all the memories.
My prayers go out to the Akkad family. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Who ever thought you'd hear that Al Queda murdered Moustapha Akkad and his daughter? These bastards have got to be hunted down and brought to justice!
Maybe in the next Halloween movie Michael Myers can kill a dude in a bin Laden mask!
God Bless!

I too am so saddened by the senseless loss of such a great man. I like so many others grew up with the Halloween movies and my children and their friends also became big fans. I am sure we all have a tremendous hole left in our lives without Moustapha in it any longer. Halloween will not feel the same knowing how he died at the hands of such animals. Dear Moustapha, you are not only survived by your biological family, you are survived by your extremely large Halloween family as well. You will be greatly missed!
Mr Akkad not only made his mark on the horror genre, he gave many of us a series that will forever be with us. I thank him for continuing the Halloween movies after Carpenter. What could I say about a man who made such an impact on my life. I feel like I lost a very close relative. I pray that Rima and him find peace. Thank you Moustapha for giving me Halloween and as long as we fans are alive, you are always with us. God Bless you, Rima, and your family.
My condolences to the families, friends and loved ones. Halloween will never be the same. It is so sad, yet I am so happy that the work of the Halloween franchise (and the many other films Mr. Akkad was part of)will live on. May he and his lovely daughter be guiding each other through their afterlife.
Well all I have to say is this is the last blow. The Halloween series is now officially dead. We first lost the late and greatest actor Donald Pleasance. Now we lost the man who kept the Halloween series alive for so long. It sucks that everything ends, including great people's lives. I'm terribly sorry to the Akkad family. This man helped create and continue my favorite horror series, HALLOWEEN. I dont know what I am going to do without my horror icon Michael Audrey Myers.

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful...thank you for 28 wondeful years of thrills and chills.
You will be missed....
To the man who helped inspire many nightmares as a child only to turn me into a horror loving Halloween fanatic as an adult. We will miss you.
I wish I had gotten the chance to meet Mr.Akkad but life throws unexpected curves at us and we often times end up losing things we've taken for granted.
As for his daughter...that's even more of a tragedy. She was so young and beautiful. I know many will mourn the loss of both.
My condolensces to the Akkad family and the many other fans and friends who will miss them.
-Angel Bathory
My condolences to the Akkad family.
Your father really did a great job at scaring people. He really scared me. I'm in my twenties and still have nightmares about Michael Myers. I'm a little scared now actually. He's really horrifying. But I heard that Michael Myers represents the religion of Islam. I hear that his survival means that Islam will never die. It's fighting many battles, but it will always survive. The U.S. government won't get away with the murder of Moustapha Akkad. R.I.P.
I met Mr. Akkad for the first time when I was 10 and that encounter had a huge impact on the rest of my life. To me, like to many other young Arabs, whether Christian or Muslim, Mr. Akkad was and will remain an inspiration. He was a man who believed in his star and didn't allow anybody else to dictate to him what he could and couldn't do. A man of vision, he lived his life to the fullest.
My thoughts and prayers go to his family.
Its hard to type words on such a sad passing of a great person and family who gave a small film a chance and became one of the BIGGEST horror films of our time.I am sure he wanted to keep the halloween films going and I hope his dream to make more halloween films comes true.
My Prayers go out to the Akkad and the Monla Familys.
I've never had the pleasure to meet Mr. Akkad nor his daughter, but I feel as if I have lost a friend. It is a testament to him that the work of his life has impacted people such as I in such a strong way. My prayers to the Akkad family, and my hopes that Mr. Akkad's film legacy will live on as a tribute to the man himself.
we can´t just feel any other way but sad about this terrible loss. Moustapha was a talented man in the film bussiness who inspire many people like myself and my colegues by his excellent work he has done with the Halloween movies during all these years. Me and my friends enjoyed everyone and each of the halloween movies that even horror became a way on enjoying movies.

Akkad. You will always be rememberd. I'm glad all the halloween merch I've bought in my life has helped you become a life success story. Your death was senseless. I'm so sorry for the Akkad family. My deepest condonlances for you.
Moustapha Akkad's death is such a tragic loss to the world, especially to the global muslim community. I am even more saddened that his and his daughter's life was wasted away in the name of the religion he helped serve.
May God Almighty Bless His Soul
i like to offer my condolences to the akkad family. this is a great loss. he was a great man indeed. he is an inspirtation to us all and he will be adly missed. rest in peace.
I can't believe it like every fan were shocked and hurt. We the fans and family will never forget what Akkad family brought to us, the love of horror movies and you will be missed , His legacy , his dreams, of Halloween and what he wanted for the movie to carry on and on just like Moustapha and the fans all wanted. Moustapha and Rima your in a better place and one day I'll see you again...
I am shocked and saddened to learn that such a great man and his daughter lost their lives in this way. This man helped make the Halloween movies truely great. He will be truely missed by all.
It is extremely sad that this type of activity is allowed to transpire in our world today. A man who touched the senses of many individuals throughout the world has been taken by the greatest villian of all...ignorance.
The one thing that terror and aggression cannot destroy, however, is the amount of love shown in the picture towards his daughter. That will truley live on forever and is what is considered timeless.....
Chris Eves
It is rediculous that in the world today things of this nature are allowed to take place. I can think of only one bigger villian than "you know who" and that would be ignorance. Ignorance seems to rule many parts of the world, including here in the U.S.
I am speechless that it took eight films to jar my senses, yet it only took one picture of Moustapha and Rima to touch me more. You can really tell what kind of man he was in a single snap shot. They both beamed with pride, love, sincerity, compassion and inquisitiveness for the future. In this manner they are still touching us from wherever it is they are......and they are someplace!
My families' heavy heart goes out to the Akkad family and friends.
I never have seen somone be so compassionate about his work. He was so enthused with these chracters. Michael Myers is what he has become "A Legend" because of Moustapha Akkad.
Everyone live your lives, as fast as you can. Life's short, prove something. Don't wait for life, go after it.
Thanks for all you've done Moustapha. You will always be remembered.
Thanks, Mr. Akkad, for the great help in getting 'Halloween' made.

I will miss you Amo Moustapha. Your words "life is for dancing, not sitting" have, and will continue to inspire me to dance in life. I will remember them always.
Rima, your warmth, sense of humor, and love of life, cannot be forgotten.
Thank you both for being the loving people you were. Your memory will live forever. I can only hope that your eternal life will be abundant with the love and laughs that your lives on earth were characterized by.
YOU WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED
I can't believe what I have read. I may have never known the man, but he has made such a huge impact upon me and my family due to his Halloween films. It's strange to get all choked up about people that have influenced your life that you have never met before. And such a beautiful daughter gone at such a young age. My heart goes out to her husband and children. I hope this does not effect the Halloween films, because I think Moustapha would want them to continue long after he is gone. I hope the Akkad and Monla families can find some peace in this world of so much confusion and hatred. May your god grant you both everlasting paradise. I'll see you on the other side brother, and I'll bring the beer.

To whom it may concern....
I feel kind of odd offering my sympathy and condolences to the family of someone Ive never actually met, but that is exactly what I am doing.
I just found out about this moments ago and I feel horrible. I can only imagine how hard this must be for those who knew and loved them.
That is why Im volunteering my support and sypmathy. The Halloween series is a legacy that will live on forever. And it is a tragedy that it had to be cut short.
This is the first time that Terrorism has actually struck someone that I cared about. And I'll bet there is a special place in hell for people cowardly enough to commit an atrocity like this.
Once again, I am so sorry for your losses, and my heart and prayers go out to you in this hard time. And Im sure that the rest of the Halloween Fans are also there for you.
I really hope that this series could go on. Halloween, like Michael Myers, and Mustapha Akkad, will never truly die.
He will be remembered.
God bless you all.
From this Diehard Halloween fan his heart goes out to the Akkad family. Mr. Akkad is responsible for my love of the Halloween series he continued the series because the fans. He is and will be responsible for the Halloween films. Rest in Peace and God Bless your family. Thank You for all the joy you have brought Us
I am absoulutely shocked and saddened by the news that Moustapha and Rima have been so tragically and prematurely taken away from us. Halloween and myself have a special bond because we are the same age and if it wasn't for the constant input of Moustapha I don't think Michael Myers would of had the longevity that he would of had and I would like to thank you for introducing me to horror films.
May god look over you and may you rest in peace.
Kerry Yates, 27 yrs old, UK
It is tragic to hear of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter. Thanks for producing the best horror film ever made. RIP. You will be missed by all Halloween Fans.
Such a sad day and time. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Moustapha Akkad, and Rima Monia. Such a terrible loss of life and for no reason. Michael Myers, it's time once again to put that mask back on...and this time.....I won't feel so bad...find them...find all of them..
Moustapha Akkad was an awesome man to have helped create the Halloween films. We will miss you and your courage to make great pictures. My family and myself send our regrets and our deepest sorrow.

The moment I heard about Moustapha and his daughter being killed like that, I dropped to my knees and cried. Though I never met the man or his family, it was still tragic news. My prayers go out to his serviving family and hope that the terrorists responsible get what's coming to them. Halloween will never be the same without Moustapha.
I am sad to see a man with such great ideas and the will to keep Halloween the movies alive pass on. I always admired when he said As long as I am alive, Michael will live on. I honestly hope that someone else carries on his legacy of one of the great horror film series of all times. When I heard the news I said, I hope its not Moustapha, because this could really mean the end. Sadly reading the internet it was :( I always enjoyed his interviews and his love for his work, sadly I was never able to meet this brilliant man, but in my heart he will be deeply missed. Michael Myers has been such a big part of my life, its hard to see part of him pass on. My heart is with his family and I am truley sorry for his familys loss. We will never forget him.....

I am a major fan along with many others from my Haunted house I work at Known as the House of Horrors and the Haunted Catacombs. When we all hear about this our cheering for halloween night of 2005 and we were going to have a celebrtaion on the 19th. Which is still happening and we lay our mask and hats down in prayers for Moustapha akkad and his daughter to lay peacefully in the arms of god. We are going to watch all 8 halloween movies in rememberance of them. Our scarings at the haunted house had turn into tears as we cry for our great inspiration to creating the haunted house. for over 13 years our inspiration was all because of The very first halloween movie.
Moustapha was a extremely talented individual, and he will be sorely missed by Horror Genre fans everywhere. Im sure his legacy will live on through the "Halloween" films. My god bless you Moustapha!
R.I.P Moustapha and Rima

My prayers and condolences go out to the Akkad and Monla families.
Mr. Akkad and Rima's passing comes with great sadness to myself and many others that have never met Mr. Akkad. You hear so many great things about this man now that he has passed on, but what is very important is that those same things were said while he was still with us! He was a caring and passionate man that will be greatly missed by us(his extended Halloween family), but most importantly his family.
God Bless!
Jose Negron(The Shape222)
My heart goes out to all their friends and loved ones. I know what it's like to lose someone who's close to you. They'll be in my prayers.
I am so sorry about the loss of Moustapha Akkad, his daughter and all others who died from violent terrorist bombings. My prayers go out to your family and the many dedicated, devoted and loving fans of your work. You will be greatly missed.
A man who inspired modern horror...
Moustapha Akkad was a great, great man. A true horror icon. A legend. He will always be remembered by me, and all HALLOWEEN fans ! We miss you ...
We will always love you ...
You will always have a special place in our hearts ...
Goodbye...
Its a tragedy im sure, but come on.
Put the god damn web site back up.
Rima was the sweetest girl growing up. The one thing that always sticks in my mind is how nice she was. I cant believe this happened to her. Moustapha as well has done great things in this world. May God bless them both! They will be dearly missed. RIP
Hadi
I just have one more thing to say-and this is something everybody probably knows anyway-but there are 3 movies that forever changed the face of Hollywood. The first being Jaws in the summer of '75. It created the summer blockbuster. The second being Star Wars, '77, it created how we look at franchises. And, third, of course, HALLOWEEN! It single handedly changed horror films-both good and bad!
So people need to think about this as a compliment. Hollywood wouldn't be where it is today without Halloween and Moustapha's input!
Sincerely,
Brent L. Valentine
P.S. After all he is the one who suggested changing the idea from the baby-sitter murders to the holiday of HALLOWEEN!
Another senseless loss of life due to Terrorism. First, Thank you for taking a chance with a mostly unknown director, John Carpenter and making the best Horror movie ever made. Anyone that enjoys the Horror movie genre should be in mourning at the passing of this legend. It was clear that you truly loved the movies by watching the extra footage. If the series ever continues, I hope that John Carpenter would do a fitting version in tribute to you and I mean something GREAT, not like "Escape From L.A. You truly deserve a Halloween tribute.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who lost their lives senselessly.
Tragic is definitely the word to phrase it. With all of the producers and writers in the present day striving to become the next "it" guy with the most original idea, the tag team of John Carpenter and Moustapha Akkad will never be replaced or duplicated. On a list people have of who they'd wish to meet before they die, Moustapha was on that list. Although this is an extremely saddening loss, we all can smile with John Carpenter, because now he knows that Debra Hill is in good company, and hopefully will guide everyone's steps to producing movies in honor of these great people.
I am saddened to hear about the deaths of Mr. Akkad and his daughter to a horrible and senseless tragedy. If it weren't for him, Halloween would have never been released. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
May both rest in peace.
i am very saddend by the tragic deaths of mr. moustapha akkad and his daughter but i know they are in a better place now i just wanna give credit where credit is certainly due if it wasnt for moustapha akkad investing his money 27 years ago to a unknown low buget titled the babysister murders halloween the night he came home would of never been thanks and may allah be with the akkad family .....izzy ruiz
He will be missed.
It is extremely ironic that such a great protagonist, defender and exporter of Islam is killed at the hands of such bloodthirsty terrorist cowards who wrongfully, deceitfully and diabolically claim that the twisted, evil and distorted so-called faith they subscribe to has anything to do with the peaceful, loving, forgiving and tolerant religion that is Islam.
i am a big fan of the halloween movies. It is a ashame that him and his daughter got killed by a damm terriorst bomb my those terriorst pay n the hottist part of hell 4 what they did.The name of halloween will never be the same my the name halloweeen and moustapha and rims live on 4 4ever.they should do halloweeen 9 in remembers of moustapha and rims .the unied staees of america should make those damm terriorst pay and pay big time for thrie crimes.the terrioist don't desirvie to live they all should die a terrible and very bad death. For what they did Moustapha and rims will be truley missed long live moustapha and rims.
The halloween franchise has loss a great producer and a great man...i hope the franchise keeps going and his sons takes there father's foot steps, and continue the michael madness..sincerly,dave weaver
What a loss .. he had to be special even in the way he dies. May god bless your soul. S. Almousawi
I've know the name "Moustapha Akkad" for over 25 years, I see it every year, when I watch my favorite movie of all time. I am so sad to see this name on a horrible story that is true... Please know that he has touched so many people and he and his daughter will be sadly missed.
Regarding Moustapha Akkad's passing..... I don't believe there's anything I can say that hasn't already been said. You've all been very eloquent and heartfelt in expressing your admiration, respect and love for the man who, along with John Carpenter, made Halloween possible. I'm as shocked, horrified and saddened as everyone else in the "Halloween Family." I wasn't old enough to see the original in 1978. I saw it for the first time on home video when I was 12, along with Halloween II, and I was instantly hooked. I've been fortunate enough to see the past 5 films in theaters, and I've cherished each one of them. For me, seeing the words "Moustapha Akkad presents" on a screen, whether TV or theater, has become as much an integral part of autumn as falling leaves, cider festivals, the rise of the harvest moon and, of course, the holiday of Halloween itself.
Everything that we hold dear about Halloween is now in danger. Some of you may already know this. Others may not. I myself only found out about it two weeks ago.
Dimension Films is in the process of being sold to a pair of film moguls (I can't remember their names). They have many projects planned for the next few years. One of those projects happens to be a remake of the original Halloween. The deal for Dimension to be bought out was made before Moustapha Akkad's unfortunate passing. At the time, I greeted the news with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. I've long wondered what a remake of Halloween might be like, how it might be to see Akkad, Carpenter and Hill's holiday horror tale set in the 21st century. I'm sure many of you will agree with me when I say that a proper remake absolutely MUST be as true to the original as possible, in every way. Of course this does unfortunately mean all-new actors and actresses. Cameos by surviving original cast members might be nice. I for one happen to think that Charles Cyphers would be great for the part of the graveyard keeper who leads Loomis to Judith Myers' missing headstone. If the Halloween remake were my project, I'd see to it that everything paralleled the original as closely as possible. In addition to a newer, younger cast, we would of course have to see the setting updated for the early 21st century. Unfortunately, no American auto manufacturer has made a full size station wagon in 10 years. Something else would have to serve as Michael Myers' prisoner transport from Smith's Grove. I think either a Ford Expedition or a Chevrolet Tahoe would do very nicely. The Tahoe might be a better choice, since a lot of police departments use them. I'd want to use a large SUV, since Ford Crown Victorias are pretty generic, and I'd want to stay close to the original "wagon" vehicle. Fortunately, almost everything else in the American automotive landscape is still in production. Annie can still drive a Chevy Monte Carlo. Bob can still drive a full-size van. (I never could figure out what kind it was, but each of the Big Three still has a full-size van in production.) And, of course, the Haddonfield P.D. would have to drive Crown Victorias. Vehicles aside, I'm not sure how feasible it would be to film in Pasadena again. I know the Wallace and Doyle houses are still there, but as far as I can remember, the old Myers House became a landmark-type spot, didn't it? I say "why not film in the Midwest, where the movie was set?" Why not in a small town in the state of Illinois itself? I love all of those old structures as much as the rest of you do, but it just might not be possible. Also, setting the film in the Midwest would eliminate a blooper or two, most notably the scene where Loomis is on the pay phone at the side of the highway and mountains can be seen in the distance. I would keep the dialogue and the actions the same as in the original, except possibility for one or two exceptions. I can't imagine a teenage girl saying "totally" in 2006, can you? Some up-to-date slang would be inserted instead. But aside from all of these changes I've been blathering on about, I would make the new film an absolutely perfect scene-by-scene copy of the original.
Now, as we all know, VERY few remakes even come close to their originals in terms of impressing the viewer the way the first film did. I went to see the remake of "The Amityville Horror" this past spring, and I was just appalled. I think only ONE remake has ever truly impressed me, and that was "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis.
All right, I'll cut to the point now. With Moustapha Akkad and Debra Hill gone, that leaves us with John Carpenter as the sole surviving creator of Michael Myers (Irwin Yablans aside; is he still alive?) Anyway, we all know what's going to happen if none of the original film's crew members are involved with the remake. It'll be awful, horrendous, a nightmare, and not in a good way. Dimension's new owners don't truly care about Halloween, as Akkad, Carpenter and Hill did. They just want to turn a profit. Same as with every other large, non-independent studio in Hollywood. Of course, there's always a slim chance that a remake without Carpenter might not be nauseating. But we all know that that is extremely unlikely.
I say we band together, all of us Halloween family members. A remake WILL be filmed. We can't stop that from happening. But we CAN do our damnedest to make sure that the new Halloween honors and respects its original in a way that would make Moustapha Akkad and Debra Hill smile proudly, were they alive to see it. What do you say, fellow fans? Michael Myers is the grandfather of all of the undead slashers. He was around before Jason or Freddy, and look what happened to those franchises. They became travesties of what they once were. We can NOT allow Dimension to take our beloved horror classic, the most successful independent motion picture of all time, and mangle it beyond recognition. We need to start a petition. I'm not sure just how much control John Carpenter still wields over the franchise (if any), but I do know that Dimension needs to hire him on and give him COMPLETE creative control. This is Halloween's darkest hour, and it absolutely needs Carpenter at the helm. I know that many people think "well, one person can't make a difference." And in some cases, that's true. The power of the people, of the overwhelming majority is what has made this country great, though. If enough of us band together and demand that Carpenter be given control over the new film or we'll boycott it, Dimension will have no choice but to acquiesce. They don't want their movie to be any more of a stinker than it's already on its way to being. The power is within us, the fans, the "family" of Halloween lovers who have appreciated the films for over 28 years now, to ensure that the new film isn't a bomb.
I say we rise up together to ensure that this remake would make all of its original creators proud. I say Carpenter should write and direct. I say the entire original 1978 soundtrack should be used in the film. No electronically-synthesized keyboard remix. All these years later, those classic piano themes still thrill and chill us. No need to fix what isn't broken. I say the opening credits should be displayed in orange text against a black background with a flickering jack o' lantern as the Halloween Main Title Theme plays. In short, everything about this new film should reflect the original in every possible way. And I say it should begin with "Moustapha Akkad presents." I think that would be a very nice and not at all inappropriate homage to the grandfather of Halloween.
So, who's with me? Let's do this. Later, when the film hits theaters, we'll all be glad we did. Even Dimension will be glad, as unlikely as that may seem right now. But they'll thank us for helping them to see the error of their ways in very nearly turning a blockbuster into a bomb.
Bring John Carpenter back!
While Moustapha Akkad may have lost his life in such terrible attacks, he has gained immortality through the visions and talents he brought to the film industry and being so faithful to sucha large fanbase. Mr. Akkad will never be dead and will continue to live on so long as the power and influence of film continues through the ages.
God Bless You Mr. Akkad and may your family feel comfort during such a time when they truly need it most.
May peace be with Moustapha and his family. A truly great producer and great muslim. Many don't know of his other great movie called "the message" which is a movie about the story and history of Islam...
Salam Alaykum brother...may Allah have mercy on you
I am so sorry about Moustapha and Rima. I was in shock when I was told about it. I am one of the biggest HalloweeN movie fans that has ever lived I can watch them over and over again. Thank you Moustapha for bringing them to all of us fans we will miss you.
I pray that the family finds strength in each other and god.
I wish to express my heartfelt sorrow for the Akkad family's recent loss. I am sure all the Halloween community's prayers are with his family, including mine. Mr. Akkad has had, as everyone knows, a profound influence on the film industry and will be sincerely missed. He, and the other creators of Halloween, have changed the way we, the many fans, celebrate Halloween. Thank you for that gift. May he and his daughter find their rest in the hands of God. Rest in Peace.
God bless Moustapha Akkad and Rima
Bism Allah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem,
Inshallah (God-Willing) both Moustafa and Rima are in the Gardens right now.
He was an amazing and inspiring man whom I wanted to meet all my life, and Inshallah when my time comes I'll finally get to interview him.
My favorite part of Halloween was seeing his name on the credits! He was always a proud Arab who made it in the US film industry, and for that I admire him so much. His film The Message portrayed Islam in a positive light and I know his pending film, "Saladin", would've been just what Islam needed at a time like this.
For all Moustafa's efforts to promote Islam as how it really is, a peaceful and positive religion, Inshallah Allah will also give him the hasanat for that as well!
Please Malek, go ahead with the Saladin movie if you can, continue to carry on the hard work of your father!
My prayers go out to the Akkad and Monla family.
Allah Yarham Moustafa wa Rima.

This is an incredible tragedy, that any human life must end in such a reprehensible way. Mr. Akkad's legacy and memory will always live on along with the millions of lives he improved by offering them a way of escaping throught the vision of his creation and entertainment. Thank you Mr. Akkad
Sincerely,

Moustapha Akkad and his family are the people responsible for bringing me my love of horror films and movies in general. Halloween and it's fans will never be the same without him.
To the cowards responsible for these attacks, you'll get what's coming to you.
R.I.P.
My heart sank at the news. I still don't quite know what to think. Moustapha Akkad's name was burned into my mind years ago. It was always special to see his name on-screen.
It's hard to imagine something that sick, evil and awful happening to good people on what should be a wonderful day of celebration and love. I can't help but cry thinking about it. Life is so precious.
I pray for the end of the ignorance and evil that leads people to perform horrible acts like this. They do this evil in the name of Allah, but only satan would want something like this to happen. The hurt is widespread.
I'm sure Moustapha and Rima lived with love and goodness in their hearts. I can only imagine the deep pain being felt by Sooha and Ziad - and their families. I pray that they find the strength to make it through this.
I say all of this with love and respect.
What to say ? Such a very tragic
loss for the Akkad & Monla families
and, the entertainment industry.
Not forgetting the many supporters
of the "Halloween" series.
It was unfortunate that he and his
daughter were caught in the middle
of a dangerous vicinity. As they
say : terrorists can strike anywh-
ere. Such a scary realization !
John Carpenter has truly lost a dear colleague and friend. Now it's
up to him and the Weinsteins to continue the legacy; thus
appraising Moustapha & Rima.
May they both find peace and tran-
quility in "HEAVEN" ...
My condolences to the Akkad family. I never met Mr. Akkad in person, but enjoyed watching him reminisce about the genesis of the "Halloween" series of films. He appeared to be a very kind, and thoughtful man. What a tragic loss!

I know the Akkad family members lives will never be the same without their beloved Moustapha and Rima....I think about what they must be going through at this very moment..I cannot begin to imagine...but i feel for them.. and I pray God grants them all the love, strength and support they need to make it through each day. Let the love they feel for their beloved Moustapha and Rima be spread among each other and the 2 children who will grow up without their mother. It can happen to any of our loved ones...or to you and me. What are we doing about the potential future trajedies....? I send the Akkad family love and light.... GOD BE WITH YOU ALL
We are all devastated at the thought that Rima will no longer be around to bring joy into our lives. She was a class of her own,a remarkable soul. Uncle Moustafa, a legend. May they find peace together on the other side.

What a shock to the system is all I can say. Such a loss for the world and us Halloween lovers. I, can say with a smile on my face that I was able to meet the man on a few ocassions. On one he even took me aside at a test screening of H8 to ask my opinions. Never forget the good times we've all had thanks to this man.
Thank You Mr.Akkad for the gifts you have given to the film industry. Thank you to the Akkad family for letting him give us these gifts. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Akkad family on the loss of Moustapha and Rima. May the movies live on in past, present and future.
Even though i never had the honor of meeting such a great man as Moustapha, i will truely miss him.
Thank you Moustapha for everything.
My heart and prayers go out to the Akkad Family. May Moustapha and Rima rest in peace
I came across the news last Friday and it angered and saddened me at the same time. Here was a man, who by simply producing the best of all time Horror series had a beautiful life snuffed out by a bunch of cowards and their even more cowardly leader, or so he claims. Halloween has been my favorite horror series and will always be. My prayers and thoughts go out to Mr. Akkad's family and to the terrorists, watch your back, your day will come.
I was truly shocked when I read that Moustapha Akkad had died as a result of the Jordan bombimgs. I will never foreget him and the legacy he has left. And I know that since Halloween is entrenched in the depths of pop culture and has made horror movies what they are today, that he will never be forgotten.
Without him, Halloween would never have existed and the landscape of horror would be forever changed. Thnak you for everything. Without you we would be less than we are now. Thanks for everything.
I, along with so many others, was shocked and saddened by the news of Moustapha and his daughter. I only hope that their reunion was a happy moment and that they didn't know any pain or fear.
Although I did not know Moustapha, he was instrumental in one of my favorite areas of life, horror movies. I grew up with Halloween movies, and loved every moment of them.
I pray for their families. May they know peace at this time, and remember the great times they had together. Moustapha will be missed by so many.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Yours Truley,
Heidi (Kenosha, WI)
Absolute shock and saddness. I truly want to say something monumental for this man and Rima. Moustapha deserves that. He was truly a monumental and awesome visionary. May Rima's and Moustapha's family find peace in knowing that their lives were rich and full, they made a difference, and are now in a much better place.
Sincerely,
Mark
though i cannot say i was a big fan of mr. akkad's, i am a big fan of the halloween series created by him and hope to see more regardless...donald pleasance would want that...as for the family's loss, i am deeply sorry for that and for your grief...may God bless you with His great comfort...take care and believe, and things will be good again soon, scott...p.s. the loss of his daughter was a true tragedy...and she is just as remembered as her father is as well, of course...thanks for the time...
to the akkad and overall halloween family, i am deeply saddened to here of loss of a legacy. 2005 has not been a kind year to halloween. i can only hope that malek, who is the only one who has his fathers love an vision for the franchise takes over fully. may akkad, rima, debra, joseph and donald all be together again. its a shame for us their reunion came so soon.
He has left a fantastic legacy.May god bless him and his family.
Merci Mr. Akkad

This is a huge tragedy. I cannot bring myself to words as to how I feel right now. I log on to Halloweenmovies.com every day to see if there are any news of the next installment and this is what I find. I am hurt and shocked that someone would do this. On top of the other people that did not deserve to die, a great man and his daughter were taken. Moustapha was such a pioneer in making my Halloween memorable each year with the franchise. I thank him for all he has done and send my best wishes to the family and all who new him. This is such a huge loss.
I have a great idea for the next Halloween film. Lets capture Michael Myers, and drop him in what ever country the terrorists are hiding and let him tear them to shreds. Title it "Halloween 9 or 10: MICHAEL TERRORIZES THE TERRORISTS AND THEN BLOWS THERE SORRY ASSES OFF OF THE PLANET..
Just a thought to avenge the memory of a theatrical horror genius.
My deepest sympathies to the Akkad family.
To the faceless, chicken-shit terrorists: plague on both your houses. You will know fear as you have created it through cowardly attacks against your fellow man. You will know sadness as you have bestowed it upon survivors of the innocent victims you've taken from the world. And most of all you will know justice as it is dealt by the cold, callous hands of the ones who will deliver your sorry asses to the fires of hell.
i was a Marine who served in the middle east. the halloween movies have always been a constant happiness in my life and in the service.
my prayers go out to the akkad family, and to his daughter and to the man himself Moustapha , who keep the halloween movies alive and keep me happy in some very bad and dangerous places.
thank you sir!

From pain comes beauty. We must realize this. Moustapha did. The entire Halloween series was about facing ones demons and over coming obstacles. The reason that last movie didn't do so well was
If we can make good of this in any way, it would be to make onelast film that honored the beauty oflife and how people would fight to protect it.
My father raised me on horror movies from childhood and even to this day the Halloween series has been my favorite of them all.
I give my hope that he and his daughter have found peace, and that his family may eventually come to do the same here on Earth.
I just have to say, i send my condolences to their family, and i know those to are in heaven.
To The Akkad and Halloween Family our deepest sympathy and prayers goes out to your familys at this time of loss.My Prayers and Love go out to your familys.

I have always been a long time fan of the Halloween films. Only in the last couple of weeks of October this year though, did I fall in love with them a second time after a long time away from them. I had just watched the entire series the week of Mr. Akkad's passing, and the love Moustapha Akkad had for the work is clear. He was a great man who influenced many, and he will be missed. Moustapha and Rima are in my prayers, and I wish their families only the best.

Some people die when they're alive and others live forever even when they die, Al Akkad will never die in our hearts his achievements will enlighten the road to fight terrorism and never associate it with Islam.
There aren’t any words that can be said in such a loss except that the loss is the world’s to share this time, the world is finally sharing a thing.

I was really shocked by such a tragic event. I think you had an important role in my great passions for horror movies and cinema in general.

What can be said except " Thank You". Thanks for taking a chance and financing Halloween. Thanks for being so kind when I was fortunate enough to meet him at the 25th Anniversary Convention.
Thanks for being such a considerate person.
"Good-bye is to hard a word, so I will say fairly well.
I am so sad that my favourite person is gone. The Halloween films will not be the same without him.
My prayers goes out to the Akkid family on the loss of Moustapha and Rima.
A man who once created fear in our minds, now have tears in our eyes.......
This is absolutely HORRIBLE news. Thank you Mr. Akkad for your work involved in providing us fans with the Halloween movies. Such a terrible loss! GO GET 'EM GEORGE BUSH!
Being a Syrian myself, I can't help but stress on what people like Mustapha Akkad represents to Syria and Syrians.
A man who left his hometown of Allepo with nothing more than a few dollars and a dream, yet he delivered that dream back to us, as he never fell short on ambition.
I would like to express my deepest condolences, not only to Mustapha and Rima's family and friends, but to all his fans as well. If I have one regret in this regard today, it would be not taking the opportunity to walk up to him and express my appreciation for his work and for what he represents when I had the chance to do so on several occasions when he would come to visit Damascus during Summer.
A loss for Syria, a loss for Muslims, a loss for the movie industry; a true loss.
Let us not remember how they died, but rather how they lived, and may god have mercy on their souls (Rahhimahom allah)
Sincerely,
Rami K.
Akkad was one of the greatest producers ever.....i am a huge horror fan and no one has been able to accomplish as much as this man has. The Halloween franchise truly lost one of its biggest pieces.
May God be with the Akkad family as they go through this tragedy.
Thank You Moustapha Akkad for all you have done.
I never had a movie scare me as much as Halloween did, and till this day it still does. Michael Myers is the scarest boogeyman there is. I can't believe the person who created the number one horror movies is gone, as well as his daugther. This is such a tragedy. They will be missed by all. My heart goes out to the Akkad family.
May they be at peace.
May Allah Bless u , My dear Akkad and your Daughter Rima , We All belong to Allah ,and We All return to him ...
:(((((
Michael Myers is cool, He is funny. His mask in #4 is awsome. And why does Michael Myers turn super sayian in halloween 4? And why does he turn his head crooked a little? Well he is cool. And sorry for your death. Peace from michael myers baby yea!
This is a tragedy, Not only because he was recognized
We will all miss Moustapha Akkad. He was a great man who helped give Micheal Myers a movie contract. Myers is now in many great films and he also plays on the Denver Broncos,he is number 96. I am also glad to announce Myers has been offered a WWE contract.
Moustapha Akkad has brought us many many movies, especially the haloween movies he did. This is a very tragic thing. It is also something that should have never happened. He will still be in our hearts forever.

Excuse my language, but fuck terrorism.
RIP Moutapha Akkad
I was extremely upset and saddened by the loss of our friend Moustapha. And what an additional loss in Rima. Words cannot express how I feel and I can only offer my prayers to the entire Akkad family. Halloween is undoubtedly my favorite film of all time and I thank Moustapha for keeping Michael Myers alive all these years. But more importantly, I thank Moustapha for being such an inspiration to all of us as he was simply a class act in Hollywood.
Dear friends and Halloween fans:
Moustapha was truly a genius. Strange, how I can miss someone I've never met. Actually, I've only recently watched the Halloween movies... I had never seen any of them until my best friend decided to have a "Halloween" marathon on the weekend before October 31. I immediately fell in love with the movies and became a fan.
The Akkad family is in my prayers. I'm so very sorry to hear of your tragic loss. You're not alone. The whole world is mourning with you. May God bless you.
I'm very very sad, to learn that. I just read this morning about Akkads death. This is mindless, I'm shocked!
Nicola

He will be missed very much so !
I will never give up my love for the Halloween movies. Never !
Dear Akkad Family,
I am very sorry for the lost of Moustapha and Rima. I personally know how it feels to lose loved ones, I lost my father years back. Anyways I can't imagine how you people feel about losing not one but two people almost at the same time. It's just terrible how innocent people can lose their lives, because of a seemingly pointless war. It's just a shocker, i've been a fan of moustapha movies for a long time and all of a sudden he's gone. Really he's gone physically but not spiritially. I just hope you people the best in blesses and properity peace!
I am very shocked and saddened by this news. What a tragic event. My thoughts are with the Akkad family in their time of sorrow.
truely a visionary-may god have mercy on your soul!
I was sorry to hear about the passing and I would like to send my condulences to the family
R.I.P- Moustapha Akkad and Rima Akkad Monla. You all will be missed
I have never met this great man or his daughter, but yet I feel as if I knew them as family. I am deeply saddened by this sudden and terrible loss and I will keep Moustapha, Rima, and their family in my prayers. I don't believe in death as an end but as a transition into a new and greater life.
At first I wasn't going to comment because I figured, "What can be said that hasn't been said already?" However, after reading Andrew Breitbart's extremely insightful and beautiful words, I felt the need to say my piece.
From his words: " . . . in all the years I knew Malek, Rima and their older brother Tarik, I never really thought about their family's obvious ethnic or religious background. I just remember Malek loved Led Zeppelin. Tarik worked the counter at Maria's Italian Kitchen while I delivered pizza. And Rima was cooler than most of the girls her age and had a most brilliant smile . . . the Akkads were to Islam what many more of us at Brentwood School were to Judaism, highly secular, typical Americans. And, to say the least, we all got along."
Truer words were never spoken. In all the years I've been watching the HALLOWEEN movies, I never ever thought about Mr. Akkad's heritage or religion. I didn't care. All that mattered was he put movies together that I loved. And it is the actions of a group of people who apparently DO care about another's national heritage or religion that took this man and his daughter from this world.
I believe that we all can learn something from this. To the Akkad family and friends, I send my condolenses for your loss.
Damon Brazzell
I was extremely upset and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Moustapha and Rima. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Akkad family.

This is so weird. I can't believe this happened....
Moustapha was THE man.
My thoughts go out to the family.
Mr. Akkad, you will be missed.
Thank you for all your effort you put on the Halloween series.

I would also like to express my feelings of sadness about the sensless death of Moustapha Akkad and his beautiful daughter. As a fan of the Halloween films, I am conscerned as to how this will affect the series, but that is not anywhere near as important as the feelings that his friends and his family are feeling at this moment. I hope that they will get through this hard time. Good luck and god bless.
Hi i am james i'm 18 years old and i'm very sorry to hear that mr. Akkad and his daughter have passed away. i was and still am a big fan of the halloween movies and i can't wait to see halloween nine.
yours truly,
jamesconkle
I was schocked when i did read this news ! If I'm right their death happened 11/11..the same day of my birthday .
In my opinion Moustapha was a great producer .
Halloween , Halloween 2 and Halloween 20 years later are favorites of mine . My prayers to his family .
There is so much to say about a man who gave birth not only to four children, but also to a horror genre. Moustapha will be missed by all those who he helped through life.
But I can only wish that his family and true friends are helped through this great loss, that has effected more than Moustapha or Rima would ever know.
OMG i was shocked about this news,,Some said,,no he isnt dead, and they we're wrong,,he is,,and i wanted to give my love to his family and friends who we're dear to him,
We love and will miss you, Mr Akkad,,
Kiss Stefanie,,
When I read about Mr. Moustapha Akkad's death, I was very shocked.I did not find out about his death until I logged on to the Halloween website. Mr. Akkad was a remarkable film maker, and his legacy will always be remembered. My condolences go out to his family, close ones, friends, and colleagues. May Moustapha Akkad and his daughter rest in peace in the hands of God.
My name is Jackson and i have been a huge fan of the Halloween series for many years. I am absolutely devestated by the death of Mr Akkad and his daughter, and i hope that their spirit will live on in the Halloween series. I will always have a special place for Mr Akkad in my heart, because if it wasn't for him, the Halloween series wouldn't exist. May he and his daughter rest in peace.
Man, I'm speechless. It's real sad. I mean, I grew up in a house where watching Halloween movies was an every day thing. I still watch them to this day. It's a shame that the creator of such a great horror franchise is dead. His death was so tragic and sudden. It wasn't right. My prayers go out to Moustapha and Rima. May you both rest in peace.
May God bless both Moustapha and Rima's families. What a tragic loss. Halloween wouldn't be my favorite time of the year if it wasn't for Mr. Akkad. Halloween 1 is my favorite movie of all time, but the fact that he dedicated so much to continuing the Halloween tradition was great. I'm sure they both are in Heaven reminissing with Donald Pleasance and Debra Hill.

God bless the Moustapha and Rima's families. Such a senseless act of violence to happen to 2 wonderful people. If it wasn't for Mr. Akkad,October wouldn't be my favorite time of year. Halloween 1 is my favorite movie of all time, and for Mr. Akkad to devote sooo much of his time and money to keep the tradition going was great. I'm sure he and Rima are up in Heaven reminissing with Donald Pleasance and Debra Hill. Halloween isn't the same without them.
I never had the pleasure of meeting you Mr Akkad but your warm kindness and sense of humour always eminated from the interviews I had seen you do. The world will miss you. Nothing we say or do can soften the blow to your family but in world that is without a doubt quickly becoming a horror movie of its own you and your daughter are certainly in a more peaceful place. My prayers are with your family.
Id is soo sad, Halloween wouldn't be without Moustapha Akkad, I mean Halloween mean so much to me and to us the fans, that this is a ******* tragedy! Why?
I feel so sorry for him and his daughter!
Nico Schläpfer from Switzerland
When I was 5 years old my mother rented me the movie called "Halloween" which scared me so badly I never wanted to go in the dark alone. This was right around the time I was being taught to sleep in my own bed which was a mistake cause everytime I looked out my window I swear I saw him looking at me. Of course like all 5 year old I grew up but, no matter how I grew in life the Halloween movies always stayed dear to my heart, they were the first horror movies I had ever seen and regardless of the movies that followed like the friday the 13th movies or the nightmare on elm street movies, Michael Myers always continued to scare us. Moustapha Akkad brought this character to us and made him a realtiy for scared children, When I heard the news at work I was in shock as a man who I had never met yet I had seen his name thousands of times was now gone fro our lives, we as fans mourn his passing as his own family has and will always be in shock over this tragedy, he had so much more to give the world, his family, his daughter, and his fans. Mr. Akkad...... thank you so much for everything you have given us, may you and your daughter both rest in peace.
A heartbreaking end to the life of a great talented director whose name will always be remembered because he has contributed so much to film industry. My sincere condolences to his family and all his fans around the world
another sensless act of cowardice has taken a great man and his daughter. May the terrorists burn in hell where they belong. Rest in piece Moustapha and Rima. God bless.
Moustapha and Rima, R.I.P.
The Halloween series would be nowhere if it wasn't for him... We'll miss you, buddy.
Last night, Before I found out about Moustapha's passing, I went out to buy a Halloween movie. When I was in the car opening it, I saw Moustapha's name and I started telling my boyfriend about him. I told him about his interview that I watched in the H20 Special Edition. I told him: "Moustapha said that He was gonna continue the Halloween movies until #22 because that's what Donald Pleasance told him he should do. I believe he'll do it. He's awesome." And then I heard about his tragic death. That saddened me very much. Though it hurts to say goodbye, we know he made his mark on the world and he is now in a better place.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima. My thoughts go out to the entire Akkad family. Thanks to Moustapha for his immense contribution to the American horror genre. The Halloween films will carry on his legacy.
Truly,
Brian
Well... I'm a brazilian guy fun of the series... So, sorry for the wrongs in my dialogue... But i really needed come here and leave my messages from the parents and everyone... This man was a history of the pictures, whitout him, the serial killer's horror movies don't will continue fine... I never meet the Akkads or someone of productions of the films, but, i feel really much the lost inside of me... Bastards Terrorists... But the lifes continues, so Halloween continues to... In him memory!!!!
My heartfelt condolences go out to the Akkad family. As I am sitting here watching H20 on TV tonight, I was compelled to write this. At the young age of 8 I saw Halloween for the first time. It scared me to death but I was hooked. 23 years later if there's a Halloween on TV I'll always stop to watch. Mr. Akkad you made my favorite movies and I'll always rememeber you. Thanks for making my nightmares.
Two poor dear human beings have left our hearts, but not our desires to live on,with the Akkards,we all feel compasion, and deep meaniful life in society, they bring us sooo much and deliver their best as they can! Lets make a "Halloween" for them to look down upon us from! Bless You all, always in our hearts!!!! now and forever.
I have Posted a comment already, but i cannot sleep at night because of the tragic Loss of All deaths in Jordan, rest in peace, dear departed ones! something specialin all of you....
Oh my word. I can't believe this has happened. Those stupid terrorists! I can't believe we have lost such a Mastermind in the horror genre. Halloween will never be the same again, if the series continues. My heart goes out to the Akkad family for their tragic loss of Moustapha and Rima. God bless you and my deepest regards.
You are in my prayers!
James
This is truly shocking news to me. I was just searching for another website when I stumbled onto this. My heart goes out to the friends and family of Moustapha and Rima.
I am very sad to hear about Mr. Akkad's death. He was a good person. He did a good job with the Halloween Movies. I remember when i was eight and saw the first Halloween. He did good composing the music for Halloween. I AM TRULY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS
Mike said: My whole heart, soul, and prayers go out to the Akkad family!!!! God Bless!!!
Dear Akkad Family;
My deepest sympathies go out to all of you. This senseless tragedy never seems to end. October became my favorite month because of all the Halloween movies, thanks to Mr. Akkad and Halloween 1 is my favorite movie of all time. He certainly was a wonderful man to be so dedicated to keeing the Halloween tradition alive for over 25yrs because he truly cared and loved the fans. I know he and Rima are up in Heaven and I'm sure they are reminissing with Donald Pleasance and Debra Hill. Thank you Moustapha Akkad and God Bless.
Maria Zoske-Milwaukee, Wis.
He got the Halloween franchise rolling (along with Carpenter and Hill of course) without him Halloween would never have become what it is today.
The bombings overseas have finally hit me personally and hit 'Home...
Moustapha Akkad, he is a man who's lifes amibtion was to change the horror genre....and he did. This is such a heart breaking scenario to be faced with and my heart felt sympathy goes out to the Akkad family and friends on this tragic loss of a great man - the man who, along with a few others back in 1978 created an extremely inspiring work of genius - Halloween. It was through the watching of Halloween for the first time that I gripped the horror genre tightly, and gave me my obsession with 'The Boogeyman'. It's strange that I can can feel and write so much for a man whom I have never met - But thats the beauty of Moustapha - He Is A Legend In My Mind. Im millions more feel the same way as I.
You will be indisputably missed, X
I'm Very sorry to hear about what happened. He will be missed. Halloween movies are my favorite movies ever. I thank him for them. Tracie
I am so shocked to find this news....I don't know what to say!
I always looked up to this man, he changed horror all the way. I can't believe it.
And Rima was so young...it's unbelievable.
Rest In Peace
There are so many things that we can say about Moustapha. He was Such a Great and Wonderful man! He changed so many peoples lives, and all for the best! For most teens, they stop "Trick-Or-Treating" and push Halloween away as if it is just another day of the year. But because of his Amazing work, Millions of Adults & Teens can still say "HALLOWEEN ROCKS"! Moustapha taught me that you can follow your dreams, Achieve them, and still be the same person you were before you became "Big". He taught me that by staying true to himself and everyone around him. I'm 15 and have only been a fan of Moustapha & his work for 5 years, but in that small time, he inspired & taught me without ever meeting me or knowing of my existence. Just because you have left your body, you have never left out hearts.
He was the epitimy of what a success story (in Hollywood or anywhere, for that matter) should be. But more than that, he was a generous and pleasant presence. You could pick that up just from talking with him and on his interviews. The series will not be the same without him but what's more is the original would not probably exist as we know it today if not for this man and his genorosity of helping Carpenter's script become reality. He was the true godfather of the Halloween series and a kindred spirit I am proud to have met. Rest in Peace, Mr. Akkad.
My heart and sympathy goes out to the entire Akkad family and all of us in the Halloween community. Moustapha and Halloween touched millions of people all over the world and he and his daughter will be missed.
This sucks.
God bless.
Simon, Denmark
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! why did he have to leave us.Who is going to carry on the halloween movies
Dear Moustapha,
We will really miss you too much after this time. We will never forget your contributions to Halloween series.
God bless your soul.
this is such a tragity, i love the work of Mr. AKKAD, and i cant sress enough how he will be missed...he was and always will be a great man.I only wish i could of met him in person. why do all the great one's have to leave us so early in life... I only hope his vision with the series can still be carried on! My deepest heart felt wishes for his family and friends... THANK YOU, SO VERY MUCH... very truly Ted B. Morehart (The "Chain Saw")
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Akkad at the Halloween 25th Anniversary. He was a visionary and a pioneer but more than that, he was a pleasant and content presence. Our meeting was brief but somehow that didn't matter...his impact will last a lifetime. Without him, the classic Halloween by John Carpenter would not exist as we know it today (not mention all the sequels that followed)...what a sad and disgusting thing to do to such a kind man and his beautiful daughter...May allah be with you & God Bless You.
Sean K.
well i did not know them but its a shame that some assholes can get away with murder it makes me sick that there is such injustice in this world i hope they burn in hell and that goes out to all terrorists but gripeing about it wont bring them back but moustapha and rima rest in peace.

God Bless the Akkad family and may Moustapha and Rima live in our hearts forever.
Dear family of moustapha and Rima,
i can not begin to express the amount of sadness and regret that i am feeling for your family right now. I truely belive that in my heart we lost a true legend and a beautiful young women. It is a tradgedy in itself what our world has come to. An innocent man and his daughter were murdered for no reason. I hope that god can find a way to ease your pain and alow you to see that they are always watching over everyone that they had to leave behind. He left a legend behind that will always be his legacy and gift to the world. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
A very heart broken fan,
Holly
PS. If ANYONE NEEDS TO TALK MY E MAIL IS SHOLLYPOPP@AOL.COM
omg how absolutely horrible news. he will be gretaly missed he seemened like such a genuinely nice man. and his young daughter. terrorism is a cancer to our world. God rest his soul.
I'am sorry too here the lost of Moustapha and his beautiful daughter Rima. I grew up on the halloween films and don't think no one could had did better thank you
for your popular films.
I Love Michael Myers
I cant even say how sorry i am about this tragic tragic event.. Actually i think i should wait to post something because i am still really really angry and i dont know how to say what i feel without sounding racist. I just dont understand why Moustapha Akkad i love the halloween movies that is where my love for screenwriting began and now im just so sad.
I WAS DEEPLY HURT WHEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT MOUSTAPHA AKKAD AND HIS DAUGHTERS DEATH . I FIRST BECAME A FAN OF HIS WHEN I WAS NINE YEARS OLD AND SAW HALLOWEEN FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE LOVED SCARY MOVIES. I RESPECTED HIS WORK AND WHAT HE DONE. I MEAN IT JUST WANT BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM NOW. AND I DEEPLY EXPRESS MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS AND HIS BEATIFUL DAUGHTERS ENTIRE FAMILY ... AND EVERYTHING WILL GET BETTER IT JUST TAKES TIME..
Hollywood lost a great man. Moustapha Akkad has taught us a man in a pale mask in scary. He has given us Micheal Myers a man who has given halloween a definition. I will miss him, but i want his family to know that he will influence filmakers for years to come.
Charles Cyphers said it best in his post, "The whole idea of a happy event like the wedding and than the bombing - what sort of hatred brings this on?"
One of the ways to carry on Mr. Akkad's memory and legacy is to continue with Halloween. Part 9 should take this tragedy to heart. It should explore the notion that Mr. Cyphers has suggested, and perhaps Mr. Cyphers would lend his talents to the franchise again. Someone needs to return in the tradition of Donald Pleasance, and who better than a man haunted for decades by the murder of his daughter?
Michael Myers and terrorism, I think you'll find, have much in common. You "burn it and bury it and pray that it dies but it never will. It just rests a while." Both represent in our minds pure hatred. Pure evil.
The lesson has seemed to be that unleashing that very same hatred and malice against the evil does not work. It will never work.
Truly bringing rest to evil requires something entirely different. I think we're seeing now, on this website and elsewhere, what that is.
wow the legend is now gone is there going to be any more of michael myers. in halloween or is there. even going to be another halloween. god i hope so. sorry about your death.
What can i say excpet we lost a great great man in the Horror film industry, to me to this dat Hallooween always has ans always will be my favorite horror film please rest in peice Moustapha and Rima Akkad, you will both be deeply missed :(
I must say that my heart is broken with sadness to have lost such a great person. Moustapha Akkad was a genious to say the least. Halloween has been and forever will be my favorite. I know in my heart that God has a place for you and Rima. Godspeed to the Akkad family.
Shane & Stacey McKnight
To the family and fans of Halloween, I just want to say how saddened I am about this tragedy. To me, this proofs how insane the world has become. I can only say how sorry I am to the Akkad family and their friends. I pray someday this kind of real evil will be destroyed. The best quote I can give in his memory is "Moustapha Akkad, I love this guy!"
I think Halloween 9 should be made and dedicated to him.
God speed to you all with love and hope,
Chris Mcglasson
Thank you for your contributions to the Halloween films.
MY GOD WHAT CAN WE SAY? WE HAD THE PLASURE OF MEETING AND MINGLING WITH YOU MR.AKKAD AT THE HALLOWEEN 25TH ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION IN PASADENA CALIFORNIA...... Ma Allah have mercy on both their souls! I always felt proud when I met Mr Akkad He was a kind man full of life and laughter, even thru the few times I met him I loved his presence his smile and gentleness, he was a great director but an even greater man.
My sympathy and prayers to his family this truly a great loss.
My condolences to the family of Mr Akkad, may God bless all of you.
Both will be truely missed, and may god punnish those who took there lives away so shortly!! GOD BLESS THEM!!
Thanks for everything... you will definitely be missed. You were and will always be Mr. Halloween.
I have just learned about what happened to Moustapha Akkad and his daughter. Along with the other innocents who lost their lives, this is indeed a senseless tragedy. Each and everyone of us will leave their mark upon the world, and thankfully Mr Akkad will be remembered for his great contribution to the movie world, as well as his family and friends, which is far and away a greater achievement than the inhumane scum that caused this outrage will ever do. We will all miss you, and remember you for your passion and key work in getting the worlds most famous white faced mute onto the screen.
moustapha akkad was a great man and halloweeen wouldn't be where it is today without the help of him.

I am deeply sadenned and hurt to hear about this awful tragedy and it it angers me that it is always innocent people who pay for the wars of others. I am thankfull for the many years of entertainment & art that Moustapha has given to his audience and fans, for keeping Halloween movies alive & for good memories growing up. Aside from that all my best wishes and sympathy go to all of his family and loved ones in this difficult time. Thank you for the good times you will always be remembered.
A tru halloween fan

I do not know much about Moustapha Akkad, but I am a great big fan of the Halloween movies. I am quite sad of the tradegy, because Moustapha was a great man. I send my support to Moustapha's family friends, and fans
My prayers go out to the family of Moustapha and Rima. May the criminals who committed this heinous act be brought to justice swiftly.
To the man who's name is
synonymous with the Halloween films and The Shape,
your legacy will live on forever! GOD BLESS!
I have just logged on and am so sorry to hear the news that Mustapha and his beautiful daughter have died. I am Irish and am used to hearing about innocent people being killed by terrorist bombs but it never makes it any easier. You have left behind an amazing legacy.

i am very sorry for the tragic accident. i was trying to see the news on halloween 9 and found out.
i am a big fan of the halloween series because its the first horror film i have ever seen. im so sorry for the akkad family.
To the Akkad family,
My condolences go out to you in this time of saddness! Moustapha had so much passion in his involvement with films.
The halloween films were my first horror genre experience as a child and there is nothing today that scares me more. I've never told anyone but I remember when I was 10, I hung my michael myers mask on my bedpost and something covering it had fallen off several weeks later and I woke up in the middle of the night to get something to drink and I see this pale looking face staring back at me. I was so scared! I could hear my heartbeat and couldn't even move from fear. I finally got the courage to run and turn the lights on. Finally I got something to drink and looked down and saw something wet on my pants realizing it wasn't from the water I drank!
Thanks for the great memories Moustapha! You will be missed! A halloween fan, Jose Fuentes Jr.
I am a huge fan of all the halloween movies, I wish Moustapha was still here to make another. He had been a great sensation to all his work. He will always be in our hearts. Good luck to the Akkad family.

Halloween is a little less thrilling knowing that it has suffered a terrible and major loss good sir.
My you rest in peace
With the loss of Akkad, i feel like a huge part of me was taken because the Halloween series is, was, and forever will be a huge part of me. I just hope that he will never be forgotten and that the series will continue with the 9th instalment on its way. All prayers and wishes go out to his family and himself, and that he will always be remebered for all of his great achievements...
I wish I could say that I had a chance to meet the man in person or his lovely daughter. It was his films that helped me get started in writing the horror genre and I had looked forward to hopefully working with him. He will be missed and I have to say condolences from the Pynn family. You will be in our prayers.
Halloween was the first ever horror/suspense movie i ever saw.
I saw it when I was 13 and have collected the entire series. I have posters and toy boxes all with Moustapha Akkad's name on them. He left this world too early
I will go on supporting his good name and the halloween movies.
God bless the Akkad family.
I would like to send my deep regrets to Akkad family for thier loss in this senseless act of terrorism. The Halloween franchise was the TRUE horror movie series and it cannot be touched. The entire Akkad family will be in my prayers during this time of sadness.
My Sincerest and most heartfelt apologies goes out to the family and friends of Mr. Akkad and Rima Akkad.
The horror franchise/ genre and it's legions of fans has lost it's dearest friend and truest believer.
My personal thanks to you Mr. Akkad for keeping the faith and love for all the hordes of halloween fans around the world
Mis más sentido pesame a la familia Akkad y Halloweenmivies.com espero que tengan una pronta resignación. Nunca seran olvidados Moustapha Akkad y Rima.

This is a tragic event. Halloween will never be the same. My heart goes out to the family & friends of such a great man.
Oh my god... I've been absent from the site for so long, I can't believe what happened. I feel terrible for not logging on any sooner. This was a great man, and with him gone there are just mysteries with what will happen with another sequel. I'm so sorry.
It's been a little while since this tragedy has struck. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to say since there was so much anger, pain, and animosity mixed in with the sympathy and empathy I felt for the family members who lost such a wonderful man and a woman with what I'm sure was a very bright and promising future.
I am an independent filmmaker, and one of the reasons I got into filmmaking was because of the Halloween franchise and Moustapha Akkad. I was about 12 years old when I saw the 4th installment of the series; from that point on I was hooked and had to see them all, I've never missed seeing any of the others in theater.
The dedication that this man put into his work made it clear to me that to become any sort of a success in this business you had to have passion for what you were doing, Moustapha was one of the first to inspire me to that passion.
My heart is broken even though I never knew the man himself. I would have loved to meet him just to talk about anything really. My prayers go out to the family and friends who are grieving at this insurmountable loss; and my thanks forever goes out to Moustapha.
"OH MY GOD!!" I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST READ! I AM STUNNED, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY I'M JUST STUNNED. THIS SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE. I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS HAPPENED UNTIL I RETURNED TO THE SITE. I HAVE BEEN A MAJOR FANATIC OF THE HALLOWEEN MOVIES SINCE I WAS A KID AND OH MY GOD I CAN'T THINK OF WHAT TO SAY. THIS JUST SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE I WOULDN'T BE AS IN TO HORROR AS I AM IF IT WASN'T FOR MR. AKKAD, AND TO LOSE HIM FOR SUCH A STUPID REASON!!! IT JUST MAKES ME ANGRY!!!!!!!! I HOPE WHOEVER DID THIS BURNS IN HELL FOREVER!! WHAT AN AMAZING MAN & A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN TO BE TAKEN FROM US IS SHOCKING. FIRST WE LOSE DEBORAH AND NOW THIS, WHAT IS HAPPENING??
9 WORDS COME TO MIND FOR MR. AKKAD: "THANK YOU FOR THE GREATEST HORROR MOVIES EVER MADE" BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
A film lover just browsing some of my favorite films on the web to come across this news is deeply upsetting. For someone I never met gave me all those great memories, emotions, Thankyou. I am so sorry for those who have all been affected by this in some way.
xxx

RIP - see you up there!!
I am so sorry to here about this, I love his work & he will be missed greatly.
dude.
this sucks.
moustapha was, like..... cool.
i'm sorry for the loss. i can't imagine what will happen to the films now.
the next one should be dedicated to him indeed.
Sad, very, very sad. This crime was not just against the Akkad family, but everyone who watched and loved his films, we were all victims on the day they died.
Moustapha Akkad. Visionary. Genius. The only man to tame the infamous shadow that walks behind the "Lost River Drive-in". His life was testimony to greatness, though it was stolen from him by a senseless act of ignorance, and hatred.
We may never know why all the great people are taken from us just a little too soon. We do know that even in death their legacy will forever be driven deep into the hearts, and minds of those that shared his love. Halloween. I remember when I was a kid and my mom let my little brother and me skip school so that we could go to the theater and catch Halloween 4. It was amazing to see Michael alive on the big screen, as apposed to the television set.
Memories that never would have been possible with the great Mr. Akkad. Thank you Mr. Akkad for giving me a scare that no other slasher could provide. Thank you for giving Michael a method to his madness. Thank you for making Halloween what it is today, and forever will be to us all.
A timeless cinema masterpiece that Jason, or Freddie could never stand up to.
May your soul find peace, and eternal rest.
Halloween 22.
Without Moustapha the world of horror films today wouldn't be the same if he hadn't been onboard the Halloween franchise. Thankfully this great man inspired many more directors and taught them how to create masterpieces to this very day.
And to Moustapha, I thank you so much for not only scaring me through my childhood but also through my adulthood too because without the Halloween films horror wouldn't have been the same for us fans, so, thank you sir.
My prayers and thoughts go to the Akkad family at this time, may the spirit of Moustapha and Rima go on in our hearts forever more.
Never forget.
I am deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy. The unimaginable news of loss within the Akkad family has truly shocked & touched us all. Slipping into denial again about growing worldly struggles & war related dangers was not an option this time...
Moustapha’s fate truly hit home for me & flooded my thoughts instantly. My first thought was FATHER and all the weight his passing carries. My second was how hard my heart felt that void too, now & forever…
Because of his own accomplishments & dedicated contributions to Halloween and the Film Industry, Moustapha & his family have opened up countless doors of opportunity for others like me. I will never forget how your dream has always inspired mine as far back as I can remember and will for as long as I continue to create…
We’ll miss your smile Moustapha but never forget the spirit you instilled in all of us fans. You’re the True Godfather of Halloween, one of the greatest Film Series successes of all time and your children are proud and will never forget your leadership.
Your generosity & class has always guided the Halloween franchise & community with a kind, supporting spirit. You could always see it your eyes & smile. You’re what every young person out there with a dream or idea would hope to find when they got their break. I believe that’s why we still have Halloween films & projects to this day and why it’s past, present & future can now stand for so much more, for many generations to come…
as Tribute to one man’s passionate Life & timeless Film Legacy…
God Bless Moustapha & Rima Akkad
and the entire Akkad & Monla Families.

Wow, I just heard about this, I was and am a fan of the Halloween franchise. It deeply angers and saddens me that this man's life, and the life of his beautiful daughter were taken in such utterly senseless and tragic circumstances.
May he rest in peace and always be remembered for what he contributed to the world.
R.I.P Mr Akkad.
One true genius, one true father, will be missed, lest forgotten.
im so sorry about your time comming but thankyou for everything you did for us and leaving a mark on horror films.
yours truly:
patrick
his work will be missed, this terrorism nonsense is out of control.my thoughts are with the Akkad family, and all the familys who experienced losses to such utter discontent of human life..YOUR MY BOY BLUE
Moustapha Akkad has been for years only a name at the beginning of a movie, and it wasn't until last year, when I rented the Halloween DVD, that I got to know Mr. Akkad's personality, passion and funny side. If he was half as great in real life as he was in 'Halloween-Unmasked', I thought, the world is very lucky.
Then, some time ago, like you all, I heard about the terrorist attack; and I was appalled at the thought of people killing themselves and others to 'cleanse the world from the immorals', and at the ferocity with which they had planned the attacks during one of the happiest times ever - a wedding party. When they said the name of one of the vitims, though, a thought and a feeling erupted within me. 'That's the Halloween guy.' was the thought. And the feeling was sadness. What made it worse was finding out that he not only died in a great deal of pain, but that he died after his daughter, the poor Rima, whose husband and kids, who managed to escape alive from that inferno, will miss forever too. A child taken from her father, a grandpa taken away from his grandkids, a wife taken away from her husband, and a mother taken from her children.
R.I.P Moustapha Akkad
I am so saden to hear about Moustapha Akkad Executive Producer of the Halloween movies. He will truly be missed. The Halloween movies will not be the same with out him
My thoughts are with the akkad family.
I wish to pay my respects to Mr. Akkad, a man whom I never met, but one who had a big influence on my life. "Halloween" is the first horror movie of its kind that I ever saw, and to this day it still chills me to the bone to watch it. It is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Thank you, Mr. Akkad, for your love of cinema and for sharing it with the world. You will be greatly missed.
What a tremendous loss!.....I am still shocked....and to be taken in such tragedy! I feel so badly for everyone who is close to him, including the cast members of Halloween, Jamie Lee, Danielle Harris, Ellie Cornell, his family also!! and his daughter taken too is that much worse!!! This is a horrible loss....I am incredibly upset by the news as are Millions all over the world. All the best go out to his family!!! :-(

As a person who knew Mustafa personally, i think u all fail to realize how much of an american dream he was. he made himself with noone elses help. Last year i lived in beiruit and on many occasions i hung out with rima. for those of u who dont know her, she was truly radiant. ive know them since i was 7 yrs old, they are like my family. thanks to all of you who have shown your support.
God bless
I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of Moustapha and Rima. This is a tremendous loss for the Akkad family, for HALLOWEEN fans all over the globe and for mankind in general.
He was a tremendous producer and he saw a gem of a franchise in HALLOWEEN when others passed on making the 1st one (Which is still my favorite to this day).
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Akkad family.
When I heard it on the news, a couple of days after the bombings I felt that life will never be the same, late Mr. Mustafa was the perfect muslim and the perfect knight that forced all the world to hear him until the moment he died.
I am saying that he was a great muslim because he created and directed the movie "The Messenger" that showed the pure history of islam in the true dimention.
If the terrorists that did the bombings thought that they are muslims, they are very much wrong! They will live long and forever in the deepest hells and they are never to be called muslim!
Indeed, life will never be the same!
It was a great shock to learn of Moustapha's death. He has been instrumental in founding an entire genre of film. I for one will miss him and his input dearly.
It is unfortunate that we live in a world where terrorism is rife and can cut down the humblest of individuals. But we must not give up the struggle for peace.
