What can I say about such a great man. Someone who helped the horror genre become pouplar and helped Halloween touch so many people and made it what it is today.
My prayers go out to the akkad family on the loss of Moustapha and Rima.
You wil be truely missed
It's odd that I'll miss a man I've never met. Moustapha Akkad -- and Halloween -- are responsible for my love of movies. On more than a few occassions I'd watch documentary footage on the DVDs and enjoy his enthusiasm for the films and its characters.
But why does any of that matter? He's gone, and that hurts me. I can only imagine what it must do to his family, especially the loss of Rima. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and hope you'll be able to find some semblance of peace in the future.
Moustapha and Rima, the both of you will be truly missed.
This is like a tragedy within my own family. Moustapha has given me so much more than he or anyone else involved with these films will realize. He will be missed among a legion of fans. I pray that his family will find some comfort in the fact that Moustapha will live on through his legacy of work. Thank you Moustapha, may you and your beautiful daughter find peace on the other side.
--Jeremy Lee
I just found out about this horrible thing. I can't believe the one man who could help take over from John Carpenter is dead, and murdered, at that, as well as his poor daughter.
My heart and sympathy goes out to the entire Akkad family and Halloween community.
I am very sorry, this is just a terrible thing. My Love goes out to all who may feel this in the heart.
God bless.
I am sorry for your loss. It is such a shame that such a tragic thing happened to such wonderful people. They will both be greatly missed. Halloween will never be the same, not seeing Moustapha Akkad's name across the screen.
I am sure that all of our hearts go out to Moustapha and Rima.

I AM SADDENED BY THE RECENT NEWS OF THE DEATH OF MOUSTAPHA AND RIMA. I AM SURE THAT THE AKKAD FAMILY HAS TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE IN THE HORROR GENRE. YOU WILL BE MISSED.
With such a great man loss, who knows how the next halloween film(s) would be. May God recognize and remember him when he reaches Heavens' Gates. God bless his family and friends.
Moustapha was a genius in assisting with the creation of the Halloween series. Hope you and your daughter rest in peace...and Michael Myers finds the terrorists and kills all those motherfuckers!!!
TO the AKKAD family i am so sorry for your loss, Moustapha was a great person who kept alive Michael when others wanted him dead.
He like his daughter will be missed.
I am so sorry about Moustapha,he was a great man I could tell by looking at him and all the accomplishments in his life with the Halloween films and other things,I will miss him for the great films and the great man that he was.
sincerly,
Nick campana
I am deeply saddened over this.Halloween was the first movie I ever flipped for.I pray that someone will carry this legacy on, remember, DOnald Pleasence, and Moustapha akkad both said they will quit at 22!God bless all of you in this tragic time
Without Moustapha Akkad, it's likely that Halloween would have been a lesser-known horror movie, if it would've been made at all. Without him, millions would have never seen one of the greatest movies of all time. Halloween was the film that wanted me to make films. In a way, he is responsible for my passion for film today.
Thank you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the akkad family. I am sincerly sorry for your loss.
This is a terrible lost for Halloween fans. I can't believe this has happen. I'm really sad. God bless you Mousthapa and Rima.

Truly sad news. My condolences to the families of Moustapha and his lovely daughter, as well as all the staff of Trancas Films and HalloweenMovies.com and the friends who knew and loved them.
i loved moustpha akkad and the work he did for halloween and michael myers...we loved him greatly and ill miss him ...god love you moustapha akkad
i am terribly saddend by your loss and i'm such a fan of the halloween movies
Some days come with terrible news... I am really shocked and devastated by the death of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima.
As a Syrian-French journalist, I was so proud of him and his success. "The Message" and the Halloween movies definitely marked the people who have seen them.
It is terrible to see someone who achieved such a great film on Islam killed by people who call themselves "real Moslems".
We are sad today and we will miss you Mr. Akkad.
With sadness and respect.
Ammar
Dear Moustapha ans Rima, I don't beleve than you die sure. I miss you. I thanks you for support the movie Halloween at 1978. I never forget you. I sorry you.I love you.
Moustapha, your films brought light to the true nature of Islam and the true struglles of Muslims. You showed that Islam was a religon of peace and for that I commend you.
You believed in a little horror film, that turned out to create a pop-culture revolution. You, in response to the crys of the public, let the series flourish and kept the Halloween films going.
Your humble and iconic nature has touched many and will continue to touch many, as you become a legend.
You were a legend in your own time, a film icon and a respected Muslim. I write this in the hope that your family may read and learn of the impact you had on your fans. May peace be with you in your afterlife.
my prayers go out to the akkad family, we will miss you. at least u and donald plesance are up there together, but i think the big ? is now,"WILL THERE EVER BE ANOTHER HALLOWEEN?"
I am so sorry the Akkad family loss. You will be in my prayers.
I have just heard of the tragedy and am deeply saddened.
I send all my good wishes to Malek Akkad and the family.
Moustapha Akkad is the Godfather of the Halloween films and will be sorely missed, not just for his work within the films but for who he was. He always struck me as a fan aswell.
What a world we live in.
i a very sorry of the passing of
akkad and his daughter, he was very
great in the pouplarity of the
hallloween movies. He will be greatly missed.
I feel all of us that are "Halloween" fans are an extended family, drawn together on common grounds. Any loss in our family is a tragedy but, this one stings worse since the cause is so pointless, so utterly wrong on so many levels. We have lost so many in our family recently, it makes you savor the times you had with them on this earth. We send our heartfelt condolences to all those in the Akkad family for your loss of your loved ones. Words cannot explain our emptiness....

After showcasing Michael Audrey Myers and Silver Shamrock, Mr. Akkad died because of a greater evil. Now Halloween won't feel the same.
Like in the Myers movies, this "Sheriff" and his daughter died...not fair.
Moustapha Akkad dedicated his life to spread words of peace and unity, and to build a bridge between Islam and the West. He was a man who always tried to do the right thing and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind out. His goal was to show the world the peacefulness of Islam. He was an immaculate human being who had a ‘Message’.
His unexpected passing is very tragic, but what makes it even more heartbreaking is the fact that the people responsible for this brutal atrocity claim to be religious; obviously they never truly understood the ‘Message’.
I hope one day people put their differences aside and stop using religion to justify their inhumane acts. May God bless Moustapha and Rima, nad may God bless us all.
Mr. Akkad
I am truly blessed to have met you at H25.
Your ability to make us afraid, strangly, made us love. You who never filled the screen always filled our minds. The name we could not easily pronounce, we always knew by memory. You who rarely showed your face will always be immortalized in a face of a man who bore no emotions.
You who were not into horror, created the modern horror genre. So odd, so magical. A gift to all who love to surrender to the terrors of a darkened theater. You a Syrian borne filmaker have held the very pulsebeat of American youth. You were one of us and we mourn your loss. We could not have been more different. Through Michael we could not be more the same. You are and always shall be our dark kindred and when the lights darken and the strains of eerie piano music once again fills the screen in our minds and in our hearts it is your name that we will always see first. May Dr. Loomis lead you into the Pearly Gates after showing you the many hearts that are touched by your magic and now heavy with sadness at your passing.
We will never forget you. We will not let Michael die. You are now the immortal one. The one who will be there when the lights go down. When we are alone at night. You who so rarely were given the respect you deserved will now be just as immortal as the character you gave us. Every Halloween shall be your day our friend. Every year we will toast your gift to us. You will never be forgotten.
Sincerely
Steven Thorne
I am so saddened, by the loss of both Moustapha & Rima. I was fortunate enough, to have met Moustapha, back in 2003. He was a very kind man & you could tell that he was very passionate about his work. Everytime, I watch a "Halloween" movie, I will think of him & what he gave to all of us. My thoughts & prayer's, are with the Akkad & Monla, family. May god bless you all.
May the burden on your hearts lighten to know they were loved so.
Many thoughts go out to your familes in this time of great travesty.
I wanted to offer my condolences to the Akkads. Watching a Halloween movie will never be the same. Mr. Akkad's memory will live on in my heart forever. May he rest in peace. God Bless.
I was deeply saddened by the news of the loss of Mr. Akkad and his daughter. Like many people posting here, I had never met Mr. Akkad, but I feel, through my love of the Halloween movies and all of his work, that Mr. Akkad was a personal friend.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families of Mr. Akkad and Ms. Akkad Monla. May peace and love surround you during this difficult time.
To the family and friends of Moustapha and Rima, I express my profound condolences for your loss. I was shocked and upset to hear of this tragedy. I thoroughly enjoy Moustapha's movies --everytime I see his name on the TV screen and hear the "Halloween" music start to play I know I am in for a treat! He, as well as Rima, will be missed.
The loss of Moustapha and Rima is a tragic one. It's strange to think that we will never again see Moustapha talking about the Halloween movies, or for that matter simply being himself.
You both will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry for your lost. May God bless you at this time. I pray that no one else will ever again have to suffer the pain your family has had to endure due to such a senseless, Godless act such as terrorism.
Thank you for the Halloween movies, Moustapha. Without you, they would never had been possible.
Wow, such a sad time for all of us. Im just another halloween fan, just someone whos life was changed and life mad stronger because of Michael Myers. As a child I was beat up alot, either at home or at school, life was scary during those times of abuse.Until Michael Myers came into my life, I found something more scary than living at home, I found something that made me grow to be stronger, and care free from bullies.I am now 28, and still a huge fan of Halloween, Thank you Moustapha for saving my life, keeping Michael Myers alive, Thank you Moustapha for giving me something to love and keeping the love alive, Thank you Moustapha for never selling out and letting the fans make the Halloween movies the way they are, Thank you Moustapha for all the great years of Halloween. To the family im truly sorry for your loss, I know im sadden by this tragic death, and ive never met Moustapha, there is know way I could imagine what you guys are going through, im truly sorry . Now maybe John Carpenter will come back, make some more Halloween movies im memories, have Michael sent over seas and kill some terroist ass,, GOD BLESS THE AKKAD FAMILY AND THE HALLOWEEN FAMILY AND FANS,,
I had the honor of meeting this remarkable man and his son at the Halloween 25 convention. This is such a tragedy. My thought and prayers are with the family.
This is terrible. I was so sad and shocked to hear of his passing. He kept HALLOWEEN going, he was a great person and he will be remembered by all!
i hope those fuckers DIE!!!
may God bless their families. how can you believe in God and then kill innocent people? the killing has got to stop it serves no purpose
I never had a chance to meet him at the Halloween Convention but I really though alot about this man. The "father" of Halloween will be remembered by many of us. All I can say at this time is that I hope the people who came up with the idea of bombing the hotel, DIES!!!!!!
As well as many out there, my prayers go out to the Akkad Family on the loss of Moustapha & Rima.
Mr. Akkad's and his daughters passing is a great loss to not only his family and friends, but to those who never knew the man.
He in so many ways revolutionized entertainment because he listened was one of the only producers who cared a great deal for his franchise and the fans of it. He had a great repect for the fans, as he apperciated what they had done for him.
He was loved and adored. Now his family, as well as all other victims of this pointless loss of life are in our thoughts and prayers.
I heard about this horrible incident and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the Akkad family. His memory will always be linked to a great and fun group of pictures called Halloween. I had the opportunity to meet with him at the Halloween 25th Ann. in Pasadena, very nice man full of energy and wit and ready to sign anything for a fan. I have some great video and shots of him that I will always treasure. Hang in there and keep this thought, there are millions of Halloween fans who are saddened by this as well.
I was horrified and deeply saddened to learn of the murder of Moustapha Akkad and Rima Akkad Monla. Ever since I was eight or nine and reading Poe, I have felt the calling to be a writer and have been drawn especially to the horror genre. The "Halloween" films have had a tremendous influence on my work. Without these films, and Mr. Akkad's dedication to them, my understanding of cinema, of horror, not to mention my imagination, would have been impoverished. Moreover, I proudly count Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd as dear friends. May Moustapha and Rima now rest in God's eternal peace and love.
Mr. Akkad trusted me and my friend Bruce to take Halloween onto the internet - and I hope we made him proud. I appreciate him giving me a chance to leave my own personal mark on the franchise - and meet so many people that made the movies I love.
At the age of 13, my friends and I were making ASCII animated opening titles in computer class (hey, it was 1989!) - and the first name we always put up was "Moustapha Akkad Presents."
We'll miss you, Halloween Godfather.

I just want to start off by saying my prayers go out to the Akkad family. Next i want to say that it is such a tragedy that a great man and his beautiful daughter would have to be taken from their family like that. Halloween 9 wont be the same without a great man like Akkad on the set. Its just ashame that a great man who had helped make the Halloween series what it is was just taken from us like that. Once again my prayers go out to the Akkad family. And i hope that
Moustapha and Rima rest in peace.
Incredible loss--I was deeply saddened to hear about this tragedy.
The arab world has lost an incredible ambassador for Islam and Arab values.
And Aleppo has lost its most famous citizen.
Rest in Peace Mustapha and Rima Akkad
I may have not known him personally but it still feels like a part of me is lost. The Halloween Series must go on. He will never be forgotten!! Danielle, Bola, Mike, Jon, Steve, Angel, Lynds, and Lauryn.

My prayers go out to the Akkad family on this time of great sadness.
Thank's Moustapha Akkad for inspiring me.
This is truly a tragic loss to Akkad family and to the Halloween Community. I am still in shock, now days later. My prayers are with the entire Akkad family. It truly is shame to know that in this day and age, we have to fear a day of joy and being among friends and family because the World houses people who hold not a shred of heart or remorse. Again my prayers are with you. Halloween THE DAY and the series will never be the same again

P.s. i revealed the company's name just for the memorie of Moustapha Akkad
it's called The Halloween Films
i wasnt even a teenager when i first got hooked on to his movies i drive my husband crazy with all thhings halloween. mostapha was a classic legend and he WILL live on. I hope that all families affected by this will learn to live on without the lost ones. im so sorry for all of this. my sisters and brother who went to highschool with rima are also deeply saddened and send their apologies. be strong
omg, i'm at a loss for words
I was just swinging by to see if there was any Halloween 9 news, and now I am shocked and sickened and filled with sorrow at the news of the senseless taking of Moustapha and his beautiful daughter, Rima.
I know that everyone involved in the history of the Halloween franchise doesn't know me from Adam, but I feel I know a great deal of them having been an avid fan since the beginning.
All I can do, still being in shock, is do my best to send up prayers for the families, and try to sort out my thoughts here in this blog.
This tragedy is yet another reminder of the world we now live in, consumed by hatred, misery, war, cruelty, and indifference.
So many people in the world aspire, and sacrifice everything to come to America and hopefully find the dream they fought and scraped for to come to reality for them and their families. The irony is, America is also the most hated country in the world for its actions on others' soil.
What are we to do as human beings? The world has changed for the worse, and continues to decline. These two beautiful souls being taken while on vacation to their homeland is a prime, sad example.
My sincerest and deepest condolences and prayers go the Akkad, Ascha, and Monla families.
May peace come to their souls, and may their families and friends be blessed and nurtured through their grief.
This tragic event shall be known that the criminals who committed this event, will recieve their punishment. To kill a brother of Islam is like hurting God himself. My condolences go out to all of the Akkad family and fans. This will truly be the mark of evil; in a sense. But don't worry fans, Like Akkad once said, "Nothing, noone can kill Michael Myers!"
R.I.P Moustapha Akkad
Wow . Really saddened to go to the website and find out such horrible news . Never met the man , but like many have said he was part of the whole Halloween franchise and Halloween is the reason for my love for the horror genre of films . My thoughts and prayers go out to the Akkad family . He will be remembered by me threw the legacy he helped to create with Halloween .
This whole story just seemed so unreal when I read about it. It's a pitty that the life of such a great man had to come to an end. I am sorry for the loss of his life as well as Rima's. My heart and prayers go out to Moustapha's family.
R.I.P. Moustapha. Thank you so much for everything you have done for the horror genre.
I was sad to hear the news that Mr. Akkad had passed away and in such a horrible way but he will be missed. His Halloween movies will always keep him here with us.
I am devastated to hear of Mr. Akkad's passing. God bless you Moustapha. You will forever be a legend. Thank you for 'Halloween'.

James, Delaware
i just got the news, and i am so sadden. you guys will forever be missed!!!! it is just so sad to even try to understand, what the family must be going trought. i am just so sad. RIP you will be missed greatly.
To the Akkad family,
I am a 31 year old african american gentleman from Houston, Tx. I have literally grown up with the HALLOWEEN franchise and I am heartsick over the loss to your family. Though I am a Christian and you are Muslim, I pray that God will comfort you in this time of loss. I even ask for prayer myself as I simply cannot recompose myself from this tragedy. Perhaps the irony here is that my name is JASON, but I have always loved MICHAEL. The website shows Moustapha's children as his survivors. I can smile thru my tears knowing that perhaps MICHAEL MYERS should be listed amongst those survivors. I pray that Malek and the other children will carry on the trylt repsectable legacy of their father.
DEVASTATED,
Mr.J FLETCHER

I am very sadened to hear moustapha and his daughets dealth. He brought great pleasure into my life from all the halloween films from when i was 9 years old till now im 25. His films show art and talent like i have never seen before. thanks moustapha for making bad ass films
Ryan
My thoughts and prayers are with the Akkads. I practically grew up watching the Halloween series, so I give a heartfelt thanks for all the memories.
You know it's strange... I knew the movies but prior to October 25th 2005 I couldn't have told you who produced the Halloween films. I went out to Blockbuster and I was on a mission to rent all 8 of the movies. It was simply through watching them and seeing the extra features on the dvd's where I not only saw interviews with actors who had starred in the films but a few interviews with Moustapha Akkad. You could just see and sense the passion Moustapha brought to his work, those Halloween films were his heart and soul, he would have continued to make a success of that franchise for years to come. You have to deeply admire someone who had found their purpose in life and thouroughly embraced what they did for a living. He loved movies, he loved a good scare and everyone will deeply miss a man who truly enjoyed what he did. He's left behind a legacy and shoes I fear will be extremely difficult if not impossible to fill! God bless you Mr. Akkad and thank you so much for your outstanding work you've left behind and for scaring the life out of me while I was being entertained!

u would like to extend my deepest sorrow and sympathy to the family of Moustapha Akkad and his Daughter. Thanks for bringing us "halloween" one of my fav movies. May god rest your soul and ur daughter's soul in peace. Though ur life was taken through a cowardly act, ur spirit and memory will live on through the magic of your work. Thanks for the great movies.
When I first came to Halloweenmovies.com, I was shocked to find that Debra Hill had months ago, and I didn't know about it until I visited this site.
Now I have to say that after hearing about Moustapha Akkad, I am completely devasted. I feel that we lost two of the most creative minds in the entertainment industry.
Moustapha spoke about Donald Pleasance that when he was asked when he would stop playing Sam Loomis in the Halloween films, he said, "I'll stop at Halloween 22." After Donald's death, Moustapha actually said that he would like to carry out Donald's wishes to make 22 Halloween films. It's just too bad that neither Moustapha or Donald had lived to see Halloween 22 come true.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all three families, and I'd like to give my sincere condolences to all the fans, saying "I know what you are going through."
But look forward to the future, and count your blessings, not your regrets. Have a great rest of the year, and Happy Holidays to all.
Sincerely,
Billy G. W.
To this very moment, I am still in shock and disbelief. I simply cannot believe that Moustapha had passed away. I keep checking the news every day to make sure that everyone is really for real. It is so tragic, so sad, so incredible, yet it seems reality will sink in when the dust of denial and shock settles. We have no choice but to submit to the will of God.
What were the chances of Mr. Akkad and his daughter going to Amman and meeting in the same place, at the same hotel on the one day when terrorists decided to strike peaceful Jordan? The answer is: God's will. Their time was up, tragically so. Their wonderful lives were untimely ripped and meant to be taken on that day, otherwise, the odds of them being victims on that day were very slim.
I first met Mr. Akkad in 1990 when I had just graduated from film school. It was a party honoring Syrian actor Dreid Lahham. It was held at a hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I will always remember the first words he told me. Later, he gave me his office number. I called him later, and went over to his office which was on Sunset at the time. It was like yesterday. Last time I met Mr. Akkad was in 2002 when I was having dinner with my ex-wife at a restaurant on Sunset Blvd. When I approached him, he immediately rememberd me. I had pitched a few ideas to him once, including a Halloween sequel. He always told me the same thing: "you need credit, get your name out there and you will find work!" I simply cannot believe that the man who once inspired me to become a filmmaker through his movie "The Message" is actually lying in the dust right now, killed by a horde of barbarians who dare to call themselves Muslims!!!!
My heart goes out to Malek, Tareq, Zade and Sooha. May God give you patience and peace. You are not alone in your loss. You are not alone in your mourning. The whole world mourns with you.
Sincerely,
Samy C.
Sadly, I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Akkad, but he was a hero of mine and many others around the world for carrying on the legacy of Michael Myers and investing so much time into the HalloweeN series. Family, friends and fans will carry on the spirit of Mr. Akkad forever so he will never truly be gone.
R.I.P. Mr. Moustapha Akkad and Ms. Rima Akkad, you will both be forever missed, but never forgotten.

Sincerely,
Samy C.
I do not know any real words that can console/heal/help anyone who loses loved ones in such a tragic way. His death made me realize who he was.
It made me want to know who the real Moustapha Akkad was and in my searches of his many interviews. I
read the words and advice of a kind wise man who loved both his homeland and america. He understood America. He had no problem respecting people who's faith values did not match his own. He used this very website to find out what the fans wanted in regards to the films future endevors.
I wish I knew him, if only for a minute of my life so that I could thank him for his contributions to my fevered imagination and general love for safe fake scares.
It is through his death that I will seek and watch copies of his films The Message and Lion in the Dessert.
I can only hope that a
peace foundation is funded in his
and his Daughters name. Rima was so young and so very Pretty. I cant begin to understand the kinds of monsters that would take away such a gentle life.
One thing this has thought me and I hope one day teaches the land of Islam, is that we must respect each other differences.
God ultimately will decide who is right or wrong.
If any of us are even right to begin with...
All are created, all are taken but freewill will runs riot. If you really seek to please or apease your creator.
Never use your freewill to harm another being. No matter what the reason.
That is not the job of a man and only a coward would use their creator as a platform to committ or condone acts of violence.
What is power. Is it control or possesion over Land, Money, or People??
No!
None of this can follow you into
the world that may wait for us beyond this short exsistance.
Why do evil for such small things.
Real power is Love. Love of people young and old of all races and creed. Of all land and way. It is easy to love or hate someone else it is even harder to hate or love yourself.
Respect those that dont share your views. Break bread with them. See the person inside,
See
the brother,
the sister,
the son,
the daughter,
the father,
the mother,
the elder.
See that they are more then the path or creed they choose to define or calm their exsistance. That for them what they choose is what they need. It might not be what you nee or what you want for them but respect them none the less.
What makes us different makes us unique, and because of this terrible act we lost a very unique man and his daughter, as well as
countless others.
If we could imagine for one minute that these crimes where
only being committed and victimizing children.
I'm sure we would all try very hard to stop it. No matter what side we took.
It is my hope that the family of Moustapha begin a fund in him and
his dauther Rima's name to help usher in Peace to Jordan and the Eastern world.

I was just looking on the net on the Halloween website when I found out that Moustapha Akked and his daughter are killed by terrorists.
Last week I heard of the attack and I was like; when does it stop.
Now, the victims have a face....
What a loss for family and others closely to the Akked family.
I wish the Akkad family and all other families of the victims the will to go on.
Thanks Moustapha for being a icon.
When I think back to times I've seen Moustapha speak on screen or in print, one word comes to mind: class. No, make that two words: class and dignity.
Rest in peace, dear entertainer.
For someone I've never met – it truly feels like a member of my family has been taken from me. My most sincere condolensces to the Akkad family. May God bless you and keep you in this terrible time.

I was very busy this weekend and didn't have a chance to get on the net until now.. I've just read the very upsetting news.. I can't believe this happend to a wonderful man.. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of this horrible tragedy..
I can't believe that this has happened. I am deeply sorry to the Akkad family. I hope the Halloween family becomes even more closer and stronger. Moustapha Akkad and Rima will deeply be missed.
WE love you there is know words that we can saytht will bring you back i wish that was true but we can't you were taken form us way too soon we love you Moustapha Akkad will never be forgotten
This is horrible. Rima had two children. Moustapha was a wonderful producer, and cared so much about the Halloween series that he worked on every film. They will be missed by friends, family, and the Halloween/film community.
Moustapha Akkad was responsible for providing countless hours of horror movie entertainment for my husband and I. He was a key player in the horror genre, and will always be remembered.
I hope wherever he is, he has been reunited with Donald Pleasence, and the two of them can talk about the old times.
What can you say about this man. other than..............
Moustapha Akkad is the one who got me started on horror movies. he made it what it is today and i hope he rests in peace.
From a true fan, Akkad will be missed dearly.
The loss of Moustapha Akkad and his daughter is tragic. Terrorism is still here and we shouldn't live in fear and I hope that the American people will stand behind our troops open there eyes on what is really going on a encourage the fight against terrorism. People are dying everyday and we have to remember why that is. For a much peaceful future and no more senseless killings such as these too innocent bystanders
Deepest condolences to all members of the Akkad family. May there be some comfort in knowing Moustapha and Rima are together in peace. God be with you.
Dear Mr. Akkad
I am terribly sorry for your loss
I am a really great fan of your work on the Halloween Movies. Sorry
Send my blessings to your family
To the Akkad family,
Moustapha Akkad and his wonderful daughter were 2 great people. Both of whom will be dearly missed forever. I can't imagine the pain your all in. I never knew Mr. Akkad and it made my heart sink when I heard the news. A great man and daughter have passed on due to the acts of terror. A senselss and evil crime.
I never had the honor of knowing the man. I hoped that one day in my career I would. The Halloween series has, and always will be, one of my personal favorites. It got me in the business. This man was a pioneer to the Halloween world and it's fans.
We send our best to the entire Akkad family on this sad day of loss.
On behalf of FoxFrost Films and Halloween fans everywhere, God Bless.
Sincerely,

so sorry for your tremendous loss.
so many people are coming forward to say what a wondeful friendly and warm man he was -- Bless him and Rima.
SO sorry to hear about the tragic death of moustapha, and his daughter,my prayers goes out to his family, i surely hope that his legacy continues on,as one of the greatest horror film ever made.
i think they should make Halloween 9 in memory of him he is a good person and i think they should have Jamie Lee Curtis come back one more time even if they choose to end the series and i think Jamie Lee Curtis and the other cast members of the other halloween movies should be notiffied of his death and other crew members too may god bless him and his family
He was such a great man who had an eye for tasteful film such as his own: the halloween series. Lets make Halloween 9 memorable, after all it is in early stages and it should be made because he would of wanted it to be. Now is the time to make it full circle and include halloween 3-6 back into the series, as this may be the last! God Bless you x
I am saddened by this news of Mr. Akkad and his daughter's deaths. I am even more saddened that I did not see this news story on the news anywhere. My local news reported nothing and neither did any national news.Just another example of how terrorism acomplishes absolutely nothing. God bless everyone!!!!
Words cannot express how much Moustapha, the godfather of Halloween, and his daughter will be missed.
If it wasn't for him, there would never have been Michael Myers, or perhaps even a teen slasher genre.
It is because of him that I was inspired to create my own webpage dedicated to slasher films. If it wasn't for Mr. Akkad, I would have never taken an interest in horror and none of it would have ever happened, and for that, I will always remember and thank Mr. Moustapha Akkad.

This was a great man who did not deserve to have his life taken wayay from him as with his daughter. My prayers go out to him, his daughter and his family.
Dear Malek and the Akkad Family --
Only Malek and his father knew me. I worked for them several years ago. Our time together was brief; only a month or so, but I can tell you that Moustapha was a man who impressed me very much. I remember him very clearly as being quite warm and generous with me - a man I felt to be of deep character, I remember thinking almost immediately. But, alas, I have, inprudently, not kept in touch much, except for a couple of calls to Malek once or twice over the ensuing years years. However, I must tell you, franky, that I have thought often of Moustapha - especially over the past few years, wondering if I would be able to speak with him to ascertain his perspective concerning the great conflict now facing our world. And I say this now, not only memory of a man I admired for the qualities of character I preceived in him, but as well for the hope, for our world, which those quaalities sometimes brought to my soul. I, of course, knew Moustapha to be of the Faith of Islam. And it is that knowledge, coupled with my presence having touched his, that brought hope to me. To me Moustaphathis Akkad, despite our brief encounter, was a very good man. Of course, I can not say I will miss him in a physical sence, for I had been with him for only a short time in my life. Still, I shall truly miss knowing that a man suc as he walks the Earth. However, his having walked it brings to me a great gift. The gift of hope.
Malek, I know you love your father - and I also recall how he loves you. Thus, you are blessed, So carry on in his memory as best you can. For, as Islamic Holy teacings tell us (and as your web page reminds us): "Verily, with God do we belong and, verily, unto Him shall we return, " so, then, shall you one day beyond time again, sit with your beloved father - and your dear sister, but this time shall you do so in God's eternal kingdom.
May Gof bless your father and may he bless all your family
Love,
Brad English
I was incredibly saddened to hear the news of Moustapha's and his his daughers death. This is a an absolute tragedy. Moustapha will live on in the legacy that is the "Halloween" franchise, as well as with his other work. The original "Halloween" has inspired so many people, including myself to become filmmakers. He's touched many lives, most of which he never knew. I'm sure he will continue to do that from above. My deepest sympathies are with the family they left behind.
I did not know you, but I loved all the HALLOWEEN MOVIES!!! GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY LOVE,CRAIG RENNER
