It’s that time again … No not the big give-a-way at 9, but the Halloweenmovies Mailbag!

We received great questions as always and we really appreciate everyone taking the time to write us.  You guys/gals are the best!!! There were alot of the same questions this week so not everyone had their questions directly answered. And (drum roll please) no new Halloween 3D news! But there is some other Halloween related news on it’s way! We don’t know what it is just yet, but we’re told it’s something cool…so stay tuned!

Q, What was the name of the band from Rob Zombies Halloween 2? Are they a real Band?

A. The name of the band was Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures. The lead singer is country music/alternative artist Jesse “Banjo and Sullivan” Dayton. You can visit his website here:http://www.jessedayton.com/

Q. I remember back prior to Halloween 3 was released and there was a trailer that led
us to believe that Jamie Lee’s character would become the killer,(thus the name
“Season of the Witch”, I was young when I saw the trailer, but did it exist or was it scraped.

A. Never existed.

Q. I heard the A&E channel is currently making “Halloween: The Inside Story” Do you know anything about that?

A. Yes we do Corey, and it will air this October on Biography. As we get closer to the release will let remind everyone to check it out! Lots of info and new interviews with your favorite Halloween (1978) cast and crew. You won’t want to miss this.

Q. So when are they going to make another halloween movie with the original characters
Jamie’s son steven, tommy doyle, laurie’s son john etc? Nothing to do with Rob
Zombie!

A. Jenny Halloween H20, ended the Halloween 4-6 plotlines and the Halloween (2007) re-make ended them all. Any chance of seeing those stories back in another film would be highly unlikely at this point.
But you never know!

Q. In Halloween 6 Jamie has the baby, was that Michael that gave her the baby, or was
it one of the cult members?

A. Unfortunately the theatrical version of Halloween 6 doesn’t go into any detail about the baby, but what was cut from the film does and yes Michael is the father of the child.

Q. Do you know who holds the current theatrical rights to the original Halloween? I was told it was Trancas International Films but they claim they do not have the rights.

A. Compass International Pictures has always held the rights to the original Halloween. Trancas International Films holds the rights to Halloween 4 and Halloween 5.

Q. what does michael do on other days of the year

Q. Since Michael Myers didn’t know who Laurie Strode was in Halloween what made him
feel the need to stalk her and then attack?

A. Michael stalked Laurie simply because she went to his house to drop off the keys. Other then that there was no other reason other then he was “purely and simply evil”.

Q. Hi! Dennis from Sweden here. My question is if all “Halloween” films will be released on Blu-ray? The first movie has been released on Blu-ray but sadly, not in Europe/Scandinavia. The series has so many fans all over the world, and we would really love to see the films in HD, filled with lots of extras.

Is it possible to forward this suggestion to the movie companies?

A. We hope to see all the Halloween films converted to Blu-ray and available everywhere one day~ If we hear of anything new, we’ll let you know. Right now we do know that the original Halloween is available in the UK and will be expanding into other territories very soon!

Q. I was just wondering how come I have not seen any new updates lately? I come to the home page and nothing new, whats up with that?

A. If you’re talking about Halloween film news then there isn’t any new updates to really post. As far as website updates, we don’t really have a webmaster since Anthony Masi left, but we are working on getting that rolling.

Q. Will they release Rick Rosenthal’s version of Halloween 2?

A. It’s up to Universal Studios to release this version on DVD or Blu-ray. We do not know.

Q. What does the mark of thorn that appears on michael’s arm mean? When was he supposed to have gotten it?

A. Michael started showing this mark in Halloween 5. There was no real explanation to what it was until Halloween The Curse of Michael Myers where it was explained to be the symbol of Thorn (an ancient rune) and was the reason to why Michael kills only on Halloween.

Q. Has there been a halloween 6 PRODUCR’S CUT movie been released? If not will there be one in the near future.

A. No it’s not been released. We know that the fans would love to have this version of the film released on DVD or Blu-ray, but according to Malek Akkad “it is Disney’s call (Miramax), as they own the rights to Halloween 6-8. I think from a financial stand point, (which would be their concern) because the film has been so widely seen on the internet, it might not make sense.”

Q. I was just curious about michael meyers neice it sais that his sister had a girl but in halloween h20 there is no mention of her having a daughter only a son namend john why dont they mention her daughter if she had one???

A. With series veteran Jamie Lee Curtis coming back to reprise her role of Laurie Strode, it became clear that a new approach to the storyline needed to be in place for this film to work. Unfortunately that meant having to abandon a continuity that was established in the previous 3 films.

Q. i was wondering was there ever a real michael myers if so ttell me ? it would be cool if there is and what caused him to attack?

A. Yes there is and he’s right behind you!!!

Q. my question is when is there gonna be another halloween convention for michael myers fans because i really want to attend one.

A. The 25th and 30th Anniversary Halloween conventions were put together by Halloween fans so we don’t have any information about any events coming up. We are considering doing something to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Halloween in 2013. Stay tuned!

Q. whts the deal with halloween 3 tht pretty much was the worst movie i ever seen so wht is the point in tht?

A. After blowing up Michael Myers at the end of Halloween II, the storyline (at that time) had officially ended. John Carpenter and Debra Hill along with Moustapha Akkad, Irwan Yablans and Joe Wolf wanted to release a new series of films with new stories that centered around the Holiday of Halloween. Hence Halloween III The Season of the Witch. Fans of the first two Halloween films were confused by the title and lack of reference to the previous films and as a result the box office suffered and this idea was quickly dropped. Several years later the idea was brought up to bring Myers back by Moustapha Akkad and in 1988 Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers officially resurrected his character.

Q. Hi i don’t suppose anyone knows where i could get a hold of the Halloween movie novels that were released? I’ve tried eBay and Amazon but cant find them?

A. Unfortunately those novels are long out of print and very hard to find. The 2 sites you’ve mentioned (eBay & Amazon) typically have those items for sale from time to time. You’ll just have to be patient. You can also contact other Halloween fans via our Facebook & Myspace profiles and see if they can help.

Q. Is doctor Lumus Michaels family to ? because he had that sign on hi9s wrist in halloween 6 …. what is he to Michael ?

A. Dr. Loomis is his doctor. The scene you are referring to in Halloween 6 was cut from the film before it’s release, so it’s not a part of the Halloween plotline.

Q. I wanted to know are fans allowed to give ideas for a new Halloween movie and if not can the fans atleast get a chance to play in the movie i really wanna play in halloween and be a family member of michaels that he has to kill:D

A.  We do not accept submissions/ideas/pitches for Halloween films at Halloweenmovies.com and we will not forward them or put you in contact with anyone associated with the films. If you have an agent he/she will know what to do and who to contact. We do have some things in the works for the fans that we cannot comment on just yet…stay tuned!

Q. I was looking for or info about if there is a Complete DVD set of all the old Halloween movies or if they releasing a Region 1 of Halloween: The Complete Collection or something like it? Thank for your time

A. Well Phil, many different studios handle the distribution for the Halloween series. Compass International Pictures distributes the original Halloween – Universal Studios distributes Halloween II & III – Trancas International Films distributes Halloween 4 & 5, Miramax distributes Halloween 6 -8 and TWC, LLC/Dimension Films distributes latest 2 Rob Zombie Halloween titles and so forth. So putting together a complete box set of all the Halloween films is a very complicated thing. Hopefully (one day) it will happen.

Q. Hello. How are you? Are there any plans for Trancas/TWC/Dimension to assemble and release a fan-approved edit of Rob Zombie’s H2? Namely, one with Daeg Faerch replacing Chase Vanek; the white horse sequences marginalized at best; hobo Myers replaced by the real Michael Myers; and more prominent use of John Carpenter’s music. We fans would love to see something like that in the future.

A. No Chris there are no plans for a “fan-approved” edit of any Halloween film.
