August 26, 2007 After Rob left the stage and the lights went down, the audience was treated to a vision of a HALLOWEEN unlike all the others. Gritty, violent, classy and unrelentingly scary, Michael Myers came back with a vengeance to kill in Haddonfield once again. The World Premiere of HALLOWEEN took place at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood on August 23rd to a packed audience, with hundreds of people gathering outside the theater to watch the red carpet arrivals. Producer Malek Akkad first welcomed the audience and then dedicated the film to his late father, Moustapha, for keeping Michael alive on the big screen for so many years. After Malek, producer Andy Gould took the stage to comment on how "just one year ago we were talking about the new movie and here we are finally seeing it finished." Harvey Weinstein then summarized how grateful he was to discover the incredible film, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, which led him to working with Rob Zombie, and then he introduced the director to the crowd. Rob was brief with his comments stating he was proud of his accomplishment and that he hoped we all enjoyed his re-imagining of the classic film. He then recounted his telephone conversation with John Carpenter, when he revealed to John that he was re-making his movie. It went something like this:
"John, this is Rob Zombie."
"Hi Rob."
"Just letting you know I'm re-making HALLOWEEN."
"So what do you want me to do?"
"I'm not saying you should do anything, I just wanted to tell you I'm re-making the damn thing!"
"Well have fun."

Over the last seven weeks, Michael Myers once again terrorized Haddonfield, Laurie Strode came face-to-face with the boogeyman, and Dr. Loomis met his match. We are happy to say that HALLOWEEN finished filming tonight on schedule at 11pm in Los Angeles. Malek Akkad reports that filming was a joy, and the camaraderie on-set was something he hadn't seen before. HALLOWEEN will come to life in the editing room in the weeks ahead, and during this time we will continue to keep you updated on the progress of the film. HALLOWEEN will open in theaters on August 31st, but you can see the teaser trailer on April 6th! The trailer will be shown before the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez film, GRINDHOUSE.

We know the HALLOWEEN updates have been quiet over the past month, but today we are happy to finally provide an official update! Halloween: 25 Tears of Terror producers Anthony Masi and Stefan Hutchinson visited the set yesterday with Malek Akkad and got some unexpected treats... we met Malcolm McDowell, saw the new Myers mask up-close (as well as Michael's two knives), and were given a private viewing of footage... the film looks amazing! We also wanted to address what's happening with Heather Bowen! Heather won a walk-on role in the next HALLOWEEN movie in a contest at the 25th Anniversary Convention... you can see Moustapha Akkad declaring her the winner in a bonus segment on the Halloween: 25 Years of Terror DVD. We receive lots of emails asking if Heather is still going to be in the movie and the answer is YES. Her scene was supposed to be filmed today, but the schedule changed and the producers are working her into another scene shortly. We have asked Heather to provide a written account of her experience, and we'll post that when the time comes.
We will bring you more news soon!
